My son's birthday today and had morning tea with a special friend (his mother in law) As we couldnt be with him because he lives on the other side of the world we felt the need to indulge in a hot chocolate and melting moment in celebration anyway. Bliss!
Oh, that's so sweet! How often are you able to meet? I have "only" 3000km between my German family and my family here, but at least we are at the same continent. Must be hard. Really like your way of celebrating his birthday, nice touch!
@pennystot thankyou Penelope. the food was yummy and we are so greateful we have a skype visit every weekend and they send us pics of our baby grandson nearly every day. Our grandson is only 9 months old but gets very excited when they start to get the computer ready. His own personal tv show!
@kanelipulla They moved to London over 12 years ago now and I reckon it took me 10 years to get used to it. We see them ever year or so and we have visted 3 times. they came here for last Christmas and we hope to visit them next year but we have a skype visit every weekend and Henry who is nearly 10 months gets very excited when they start to get the computer ready. They send us photos and little videos of him nearly every day so we feel as though we are seeing him all the time. But nothing can really make up of them being so far away.
That is so sweet of you two Moms to celebrate your son's birthday together. I am sure he would have loved this idea. Yes Skype and technology is a blessing we get to meet our family and friends who move across the globe for work.
