Whenever I see this ground cover plant bloom, I think, "It is Spring for sure!" Of course, Winter can always make a come back, but it is nice to think that Spring is here and it is here to stay.
This photo also checks off a macro bucket list item. Each Spring, I have tried to get a good shot of this tiny blossom and each Spring I have failed. This may not be the best photo ever of this blossom, but it is the best I have gotten. The blossoms of this ground cover plant are about two pinpoints across. I don't know what the name of this plant is. Do you know its name?
You not only got a lovely shot of the flower, but you captured a visitor too! I'm not sure what it is, but I'm sure if you google tiny blue flower you'd get some images to compare it to. Nice shot!
@deu49097 Thanks. I think the tiny flower is lovely too. It is not a violet or at least, it is not like the violet I know. I tired the wildflower guide and the weed guide from my state and I cannot find it.
@milaniet Milanie, thanks. Our plants look quite similar. I live in a growing zone just that far north of yours to make me think that our plants are the same. I still cannot find its name. I have looked in my state's wildflower guide and in my state's weed guide. Perhaps I will have to wait until I see a master gardener at one of the local plant sales.
Great micro capture of this beautiful ``weed``. If I want to know a name of flowers/weeds/or bushes I often ask the (public) workers in public gardens
They mostly knows .
