August 25: Season Indicator

When the native clematis blooms, I know that it is late summer. This native plant blooms in time to catch the fall migration of butterflies. The butterflies and bees and flies polinate the clematis. The butterflies lay their eggs on the clematis. The clematis dies usually before the killing Autumn frost. The life cycle continues. I find this native vining plant beautiful with its small white blossoms. On the other hand, this plant can be an invasive weed. With the good, comes the bad with this plant.
Lovely photo, but I hate the thought of the oncoming fall.

I always say a wildflower is not a weed. This shot is very nice and has some lovely detail.

Weed for me is only a plant I did n`t seed myself. Often they may grow and surprise me . A great B+W capture of this lovely flower.

@nanm Thanks. I normally do not like the arrival of Autumn, since winter quickly follows (and I don't like winter). However, after a series of back to back extremely hot and humid days, I am looking forward to cooler weather.

@olivetreeann Thanks. I would like to consider the native clematis not a weed, but it is currently trying to take over my flower garden.

@pyrrhula Thanks! I like the looks of the native clematis, but I don't like how it is trying to take over the flower garden.
