I could not take the cabin fever any longer. We took a ride through town. The highways are clear, but the streets are snow and/or ice covered. It was good to get out of the house. However, one does have to drive carefully due to the winter weather and road conditions.
Our country is from the north to the south a 4 hours drive. I live in the south and have n`t seen any snow yet. In the north the circumstances are like yours . Great shot of you snow. Take good care by going outside.
@milaniet I definitely drive slow and easy when the streets are like this. No, I don't live on the east coast. We just called my brother in law who does. They are expecting up to 2 feet of snow where he lives. We are getting snows of less of 2 inches and less. I think I will take the lesser amount over the larger amount of winter precipitation.
@linnypinny Thank you. It is snowing (and icing) here even when it is not in the forecast. Fortunately, we are not getting buried with heavy, deep amounts of snow. I hope you miss the major winter storm.
@olivetreeann We seem to be missing the major parts of the winter storms. That is OK with me. When I do go out, I am driving carefully. Please be careful out there when you are out and about.
@eyesmile It is indeed cold and wintry here this week. I am driving carefully whenever I drive. A lot of my clubs and events have been canceled due to the weather and road conditions. Therefore, I am not going out much.
@sangwann Thank you. I was trying to capture "the feel of winter" with this shot. When I looked at this photo, I did realize that it looked like people were staying home. We only met a few cars on the streets.
@stownsend Thank you. I do not drive really well on the snow. I drive adequately though to get around. I do think twice about winter driving. The trick is to do every thing easy. Do NOT brake hard. Do NOT accelerate quickly. Stop braking for a stop sign or a traffic light far in advance. Drive smoothly. My husband grew up north and he is a much better winter driver than I am.
@pyrrhula Thank you for your comment. I live in the middle of my country. There is a lot more snow (and colder temperatures) to the north. My state is getting its share of snow and ice this winter. Almost all of our snows have been less than two inches. I have a feeling though that we will get a more major snow storm later in the winter season. If you want some snow, I can try to send you some.
@paulaw Thanks. Yes, the snow and ice on the streets do make for slippery driving conditions. The city is not sending out the plows on the side streets so far this winter. I hope they do a better job of plowing the snow, if we get a major snow storm.
