Our Covered Bridge by daisymiller

Our Covered Bridge

My city had a covered bridge at the edge of town. Then, a bunch of drunken young males burned the bridge down. This bridge was a landmark. The citizens were quite angered by the destruction of the historic bridge. A couple of decades passed. A group of citizens got together and raised funds to build a replica of the covered bridge. This bridge is about one third of the size of the original bridge. It is a favorite attraction at one of the city parks. I decided to try my hand at sepia processing to make the bridge look old. This image is for the photo club's scavenger hunt. We get to spend a few months trying to find and take photos of local sites. Then, we will show off our photos at the May club meeting.
This is well built and looks authentic. Hope those louts got what comes round!

Well done to those who raised the funds and built this replica. With your processing it could fool anybody as being the original thing. Beautiful bridge, beautiful shot and beautiful processing.

@maggiemae Thanks. I tried to make this bridge look as authentic as possible. No, the culprits were never arrested. However, the local citizens say they know who did this crime. I guess the police officers never wanted to pursue this, as at least a couple of them became outstanding people in the community. Perhaps their parents were powerful too. I am not certain. The burning happened before I moved here.

@sangwann Thank you so much for your comments. The fund raisers really worked hard to make this project a reality.

@pyrrhula Thank you for your comments. I am still learning how to do sepia well. I am glad that I was able to do sepia for this shot.
