Cone Flower by daisymiller

Cone Flower

The cone flower is one of my state's wildflowers and native plants. You would think that a native plant would thrive in the summer weather. Never the less, the cone flowers have struggled the last two summers. This is one of the best pictures I have taken of the cone flowers this summer due to how bedraggled the blossoms look.
This one is lovely. Great color. We have something similar, but call them a Blackeyed Susan. The have the cone, but the petals are yellow.

@thewatersphotos I have some flowers that look similar to this, but have yellow petals. They are also called cone flowers. I wonder if Black eyed Susans and cone flowers are in the same flower family. I will have to look that up.
