The weather has just been right for the creation of icicles. The temperature then warmed enough for the icicles to begin to melt. I was fortunate enough to be able to capture the falling of a water drop from an icicle.
P.S. I am participating in the flashofred2018 (BW) challenge. During this week, the challenge is supposed to focus on composition elements and design elements. Instead of selecting one element or a combination of elements, I have decided to shoot with these elements in mind. I am finding that this is helping me get better quality shots and shots from different perspectives. I feel like my photos are "a work in progress" during this week as I work on improving my photography.
Really nice composition and timing (for your water drop). Very good clarity. One of the sneaky things about shooting snow, or ice, is that your camera tries to even out the exposure - this makes it duller than it ordinarily would be, viewed by your eye. You may want to try editing the photo to add to its contrast and lighting exposure. If this doesn't make sense, or you have questions, please let me know. Your composition is spot on, so I would be happy to help with the editing.
@rosiekerr Thank you for your compliments. Yes, I would love to have help with editing for contrast and light exposure. This week's clouds have caused dim daylight. I have had lots of difficulties with getting the correct camera light exposure and editing to correct the exposure. I set the camera on an automatic setting for this shot.
