This poke weed plant is listed as an illegal plant in my city. Don't tell the city that my neighbor grew and nurtured this plant. This plant was beautiful this year. When the plant is young, people can eat the leaves. Later, parts of the plants are poisonous. When I was a child, we would make dye from the berries. They make a nice rich colored dye.
