A Day Late and a Dollar Short...

Yesterday's word was "architecture" and there is little inspiring architecture out where I live (plus little time to go elsewhere). It occured to me last night that I should photograph our covered bridge, a real rarity in our area. Coral Springs is celebrating a whopping 50 year anniversary this year. In order to draw people to "The City in the Country" (a/k/a the Everglades and boondocks!) the developers built a covered bridge. I used to play on the bridge when I was a young girl (since I am a pioneer out here). It saddens me that so many people now live in MY town that do not even know this bridge exists.
This is a nice covered bridge, it appears to be two lanes and that makes it the first two lane covered bridge I have ever seen. Nice sepia processing.

@soboy5 Yes, it is 2 lanes since it is only 50 years old and it never would have passed DOT inspection! I might post another photo tomorrow.

Good photo for architecture and after all it doesn't necessarily have to be in order. So, you're good.

@henrir Yeah, so I've stopped feeling guilty about not "following the rules"!

Nice to have a covered bridge in town. Surprised that it survived for so long with all hurricanes etc.

@bardejov Not many hurricanes have passed right over us. Once, my husband and I were in St Augustine when TS Irene (old Irene) passed directly over Coral Springs and we had left our kids behind! Then it hit St Aug and boy was it windy!

I never pass a historical marker without reading it. I love historic places and tales!
