Racing silks by danette

Racing silks

My parents are moving tomorrow, so I took some of their artwork to my house. This shadowbox contains their first racing silks (they since had the intelligence to switch to orange and blue colors!). Sorry for the reflections in the glass.

They no longer have race horses, but here is a photo I took the other day of their old house:

It's currently for sale if you wish to buy a great farm!

Or their old training center down the street:

Or if you just want to view some beautiful horse farms for sale, peruse that site!
Very cool shot. Best of luck to them in their new place.

Nice family keepsake. Racing silk, is that what it's called ? I had no idea. It probably looks even better in orange and blue :). Farm for sale is beautiful. I'm sure you'll get a buyer soon.

@mittens Thanks for your kind words. I will be glad when they are settled!

@bardejov yes, mthey are racing silks. Everyone has to register their colors and design. The orange and blue design was completely different and could be seen better across the track. They no longer own the farm. It was sold many years ago but is for sale again. I was glad to see ow nice it looks.

So did you grow up there, or was it before your time? Fascinating.

@squamloon Actually, it was when I was first married that they had the farm. We lived next door. It was a fun time! Oh, when I grew up, we had cattle. That was fun, too.

@danette Must have been! Your photos really show an affinity for the life—and a great eye for it.
