I pass by the house when I am in Miami. I would never stop for many reasons. I was at the traffic light and took this quickly through the window. It is in need of much love, but I love the architecture.
I like the idea of the car port! I still can't get over the idea that many or most homes in the south don't have gutters and downspouts. But then they are a nuisance when leaves get in them. Is it as small as it looks? Is this Mediterranean?
@skipt07 Actually quite a lot of houses here have gutters and downspouts. Ours doesn't. I read recently where it can be a problem if the downspouts are not far enough away from the house. This house is probably on the small side. I've seen a number of them in Miami under 1800 square feet. I would suppose it is a Mediterranean style. I wish it could be brought back to its glory. It's not a good neighborhood.
@pennystot The chimney is probably real. There are some houses with fireplaces. I would think some of the older ones might have one because there was no other form of heat.
One of the things that surprised me when I moved to Florida was the fireplaces in most houses. I couldn't understand why they had fireplaces in a tropical climate! I later learned that it actually does get quite cold here in the winter.
