The heatwave has definitely peaked now, thunderstorms are predicted for the next couple of days, although it still remains hot and sticky. In celebration of summer that was long overdue - a whole month dedicated to summertime in the UK.
Brighton's derelict West Pier is always a delight to photograph. This particular day was overcast which i think enhances the view somewhat. Also, as it was a 'typical' summer's day weather wise, the beach was relatively quiet and I was able to get around freely with the camera.
You are right about the enhancement of the overcast sky. I always wonder why derelict structures are always so attractive to photograph (I agree that they are!).
Have you ever taken a long exposure of the pier either during daylight or at nightime with a clear sky and the moon in shot? I think it would look pretty cool.
