While I always appreciate FAVs on photos I take for this project, this album is of older photos--so please do not hit the FAV button. :)
I have developed this photo in BW previously, and I keep coming back to it with some plan to submit for judging--so I'm playing with it in color again. I love how it feels like you are in an alternate universe with a bubble in the scene--This is definitely a unique view of a popular/iconic structure in Chicago.
This POV of the famous "Bean" sculpture is courtesy of Taffy's direction in Chicago on a photo walk with my daughter while visiting the city.
@jgpittenger it really is so that it will not trigger going to pages reserved for new photos--at least that is my thinking. I really want this to be for me to explore my collections, not to unfairly take away from those who are doing new 365 projects. I guess I remember people lamenting the fact that people with old photos were taking some spaces that should go to the new photos. I'm trying to honor that system.
One could really get lost in this. Because I'm a rule-follower, I won't fav it but I sure like this shot/edit, Daryl! Thanks, too, for your thoughtful way of looking at the 365 "system."
Is this from the trip when you came and stayed with me? Come back! I completely agree with your philosophy -- there are so many previously taken photos that I have not had a chance to edit, or I have learned to edit better now that I am in LR. This one is well done!
@jyokota YES! I would like to take my mom on a trip to NY and Chicago, so if you are up for another visit, let me know! I also want to take her abroad--Germany is a possibility so I'll need to pick your brain.
@squamloon it's hard to be mindful when half my mind is messed up, but so far, this method in three days has had me DUMPING tons of photos I have no intention of looking at or editing. Plus, I'm finally tagging the photos as I troll through the thousands of "never did anything with this" shots. It's wild to see just how awful I was in the learning process--I actually like seeing my skill slowly improve! So I keep a few "learning curve" ones to show my development, but the rest, they get the ax. Chop, Chop, Chop.
