Went to the park in hopes that some waterfowl might be there, and here was a duck I have not seen, a muscovy duck! Oh it was attempting over and over to get me to find his best side. It had a bit of foam in the corner of its eye. Used manual settings with AI Focus initially and then moved to AI Servo. Took over 200 shots in a short period of time and much of them are not good. Still culling, but I thought I would add this and say Happy Valentines Day! And by the way, the back feathers on these ducks are a spectacular green. Hoping to make an abstract with one of those shots.
@vignouse Thanks so much for the complement Richard. I had a super high shutterspeed, a decently tight aperture and a soso light ISO (not really), and I was pointing away from sun, but light was on the bird--gave a dreamy backdrop for me! I used a bunch of radial filters in LR5 though--too many to count to eliminate some of that "greenish" fringe stuff (always purple or green with me), and I really had to bring the eye out of the shadows.
I have to agree with @bonsai that only another muscovy duck or his mother could love that face! Great subject choice for all your mad skills to shine through though. Fabulous light and detail!
