The great melt occurred after our brief snow in GA. Part of our soil is Red Clay, and the storm drain above this mossy patch was flowing down. I was struck by the dynamic colors and the texture of the moss--so verdant in our winter weather at the moment.
The moss is beautiful, and I guess if that clay is in North Georgia, we'll be seeing it... looks like my son will move there after he graduates. But I can't think about red Georgia clay without thinking of a bluegrass song some friends of mine used to sing..." I'd rather feel the wrath of a hurricane, than to deal with the tears and the pain, if somebody said I'd be back with you again, I'd rather be beneath six feet of red Georgia clay." :)
