Dickinson

Phone shot and miserable light, but if you see Emily Dickinson's work in manuscript form, you will understand why seeing it edited (and horribly for so many years) does not do it any type of justice. See how the letters elongate and form "waves." Her earlier work does not have this license so to speak--the style that is-- but she was such a master of her page (and envelopes, and every piece of paper anywhere). And I would never have seen this had my professor not opened my eyes to the need to unedit Dickinson.
Love her work, too. Very cool!

It looks a little bit like shorthand! It must be great to read her writings in her own hand!
