@dulciknit Many thanks for the welcome back, Alison. Apologies for not replying to you sooner. Though I'm retired, I seem to have fingers in a number of different pies and photography is just one of them, hence I don't tend to comment here very often due to time. Your input is most welcome however and appreciated and I'm pleased to see you posting again. Take care.
@davidrobinson Thank you David. I remember from when you were here before that you were unable to commit to commenting, so I understand. I'm glad you still want to post, though. I very much enjoy seeing what you do and your use of lighting set-ups is educational.
@dulciknit Thanks Alison. The lighting I use is quite basic. Really just a desk lamp and a black background. I try to expose for the brightest side and let the shadows do their thing. The high contrast is achieved in Nik Software Silver Effects Pro (as a plug-in for Affinity Photo).
