I took a fabulous boat ride all around Cape Ann today with a group from the Cape Ann Museum. Cape Ann is forty miles north of Boston, and it was my home from 1975 to 1985. I will always love it; sometimes I want to move back there, now that we're retired.
There is a small canal at one point, called "the Cut," that makes the Cape effectively an island, joined to the mainland by two auto bridges and a train bridge. The boat was therefore able to circumnavigate the Cape. We passed six lighthouses. It was a perfect summer day, hot but not too humid, with clear skies and calm seas.
It's hard to pick just one photo. I'll probably post more in the coming days. I'll also be writing a long article about the trip on my blog. This photo is a very New England scene.
