The humidity cleared out overnight, and today was a perfect June day of sun, blue sky, and cool breezes. We went down to the Public Garden and took our annual swan boat ride.
This is a tradition I started in June 2014 on one of my first days of retirement, when I was ecstatic to be free in the city on a weekday. I got Peter to come with me on a beautiful morning. We had second breakfast, seated outdoors at a café on Boylston Street. Then we rode a swan boat, followed by a carousel ride later on the Rose Kennedy Greenway and a picnic lunch.
It's really lovely to ride the swan boats around the lagoon in the Public Garden. They go very slowly and silently, as they run on human pedal power. I love having this annual ride.
