Boston Public Library Courtyard by deborahsimmerman

Boston Public Library Courtyard

Today was a sullen, gray, humid day--we're still being influenced by the tropical storm Hermine, which is hanging out there in the Atlantic. It's not a storm anymore and did us no harm in Boston, but we're stuck with this humid air and low barometric pressure, which I hate.

So, I spent the entire day in air conditioned comfort at the library. I looked at the new book section, attended a class, and then spent hours writing on my blog. I'm having trouble keeping up with articles on all the interesting little excursions I've been taking lately.

I had lunch in the library's café and then took my iced tea out to the courtyard, which is a favorite place in the middle of the older of the two connected library buildings. I think it's one of the best public spaces in the city. I love to sit there with the refreshing sound of the fountain.
Great architecture, love the repetition of the arches.
