It was a bright sunny day, and we walked around the Pond in the morning after breakfast. The wind was so strong there were waves and whitecaps on the water and little breakers coming into shore--very unusual on our little pond. There was a very fresh feeling in the air and in the light.
Back home, I got involved in sorting through a bag of things from work that I brought home when I retired almost three years ago. I actually enjoyed this task as there were many postcards of student and faculty art work, little drawings students gave me, and other items that brought back memories. I am trying to fit all the memorabilia from my 32-year career into one plastic file box, and I'm almost finished organizing it.
After this active day, I had an enjoyable tea on my chaise longue. My vase of roses was on the table beside me, and I noticed the sun illuminating that one rose. I was reading, and after an hour or so I looked up and saw pink color in the western sky through our tall right hand window. I got up and took some photos through the window, looking down our street to where these trees tower over the houses. A really nice end to the day.
