How well do you see colour?

September 2nd, 2012
Not strictly a photographic article but an interesting exercise in how well we see colour.

I scored 11, and I think I am now blind...
September 2nd, 2012
I got a 14...I probably could have spent another 10 min moving them around, but my eyes started swimming :D

Cool!

I did this about a month ago and did ok, I took a little longer this time and my son has a new monitor also. I got a perfect score! Whoo hoo!

I've no idea how to make this work...does this make me too dumb to do it?
September 2nd, 2012

September 2nd, 2012
9 for me, what a great test.
September 2nd, 2012
@m9f9l GO YOU!!!
September 2nd, 2012
15, but I have a new screen which is better than my old one. I used to score about 45 on that.

0- perfect colour acuity so it said. My score chart looked like the one here posted by @m9f9l

It all kind of blurred after a little while.
The lower the number the better your perception of colour is what I understood!? Am I confused? It could explain my occasional over saturation of "blue range" pictures!! I scored 28.
September 2nd, 2012
I guess it would also depend on our monitors too?....
Amazed how well some of you did!
September 2nd, 2012
I did this a while ago and got a perfect score first time! Woohoo!
September 2nd, 2012
Interesting.
My score was 16.
The way I understand the test, the lower numbers are the better ones?
September 2nd, 2012
I scored 3...I lost on the last one when my eyes were going wonky from staring at the screen! That was fun.
September 2nd, 2012
I scored 33. I think I can do bettter if I take more time for it.
September 3rd, 2012
bahaaa! i scored a 31... prolly explains why i like to play in black and white ;p

10 but my eyes are feeling blurry now. I think the screen will make a difference, too. Mine at school it not the best. Still very cool test!

I think the score is how many were out of order, so the higher the score, the more that were out of order, which also means it would be impossible to score a 1. I'd be interested in seeing if any men can score a perfect score, since there's typically some type of color diversion inherent in men (not necessarily color blind, which only affects 7% of men, but diversions in the way colors are seen is quite normal for men - which explains why the average man has a very hard time distinguishing navy blue from black except in bright light situations)

I scored a 0, perfect. It started to hurt my eyes after a while though. Wow, I always feel like I have trouble getting colors right.
