I think my favorite one is this one.
“There will be times when you will be in the field without a camera. And, you will see the most glorious sunset or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. Don’t be bitter because you can’t record it. Sit down, drink it in, and enjoy it for what it is!” – DeGriff
Sometimes I get so carried away with getting everything on camera that I forget to be present in the moment. That quote is a nice and needed reminder for me to enjoy things as they happen :D
Great quotes... My favourite one is, 'your first 10,000 photographs are your worst'! Been feeling frustrated with the quality of my photos compared with the great shots I see every day on 365... But I've only been doing this since December, so this quote makes me think I should try being less hard on myself!
Totally agree with what the author says about "you’ll start to see the world differently". It's kind of frsutrating, too. It's like when I go to a concert, I'm watching the guitarist(s), and listen to the music differently to how I used to, because I play myself. It's interesting, but a bit frustrating. I can't simply get into the music, my brain is thinking about it all the time.
@attraversi This is exactly why for much of the time I spent in Toronto recently, I walked around without a camera. I'm very conscious that when I have my camera with me, my reaction is to take photographs, when I should be enjoying my time "being".
I just, posted my 1000th photo so the quote about the first ten thousand struck a chord with me. Nine thousand more and I might actually get good at this! They are all great quotes and food for thought. Thanks for sharing!
