I have been working on water droplet photography. I still have A LOT to learn, but I have one immediate question. When I happen to catch a stack of water popping up from the dish, I can't seem to get the whole stack in focus. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any suggestions. I am a total novice!
I'm no pro by any means! But from what I can tell in your latest photo, the angle at which your shooting seems to be the problem as far as depth goes. Because the droplet is heading towards the camera-- and the 2 drops are on different planes of focus. So I would either:
A: Change your angle so the droplet isn't heading towards you.
or
B: Keep your angle, but close your aperture a bit so your depth isn't as shallow. (This will require more light, or a higher ISO)
I agree, increase your dof and try at a lower angle. Get someone to hold a pencil at the spot where the drop falls, focus and that will get you started :) I took a shot of my set up and a little bit of how-to eons ago.

@shuttermonster@shutterbugger Thanks so much for the advice! I will try again tomorrow!! @welcometocarolworld Thanks so much for the link! This will really help as well! @northy Thanks for checking again! I have so many things to try now!
Oh and thanks for posting your pics...LOVE them!!
@shutterbugger Is your water droplet photo flipped? Is that coming out of the faucet or bouncing up from the water?

@welcometocarolworld
It's bouncing up from the water Laurie. I only have one shot of a dribbely falling drop, taken just before Christmas.
