What lens do you use the most now?

February 8th, 2012
So I had to repair three lenses in the last month :( On the bright side, I had that lens axis calibrated so they are generally sharper than they were. Spending the money did make me think recently about what lenses I use the most. It generally varies with what I'm shooting for (personal stuff or paying gigs) but if I try to shoot with a 50mm (I pair my sigma 30 with a 7D and my canon 50f1.4 with a 5Dmkii) as often as I can.

What about you?

Nifty fifty FTW. :)

over the course of all my photographing, probably the 50 f1.8 however, i haven't taken my 24-70mm since i got it last month so...

My Fisheye! 15mm 2.8 by Canon. Love that lens!

Depends where I am tbh. At home, it's the Canon 100mm macro. Everywhere else it's usually the Tokina 35mm - great little prime that does 1:1 macro. If I'm somewhere very photogenic, I'll use the Tokina 11-16mm a lot, but I always end up wandering around with the 35mm. I agree with nifty fifty is a lot of fun - but it did get usurped by the little Toki somewhat - esp as its basically a 50mm equivalent on my crop sensor.

macro or wide angle since they are so opposite.

i've been using my 35mm since i got it but now it's a tie between the 35mm f/1.8 and my 40mm f/2.8 because that one can focus much closer than the 35mm

Still the blinkin' iPhone - must replace my camera but can't decide what with..

I love my nifty fifty 1.4, but I do find myself using my kit lens (18-135) quite a bit to be honest! I have a few lenses in mind but after buying my 7D it will be a little while before I buy a new lens!

24-70 and 50 1.4 :)

18-70 for general walking around. Normally have my 55-200 and my 105 macro handy also.

50mm! an old, hand me down compact macro 2.5 which needs to go in as I bumped it and now auto-focus is screwy.
February 9th, 2012
my 100mm 2.8 macro rarely leaves my camera!
February 9th, 2012
Just bought a wide angle Tokina 11-16 F2.8 and it's my latest love! My run around everywhere is still my 18-200.

Using my Sony 16-50mm f/2.8 SSM more than anything else at the moment, but still flog my Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 and Sigma 30mm f/1.4. Did a paying portrait job the other day using nought but a 50mm f/1.4 prime and it was very satisfying :-)

My Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 is my current fav:)

EF 24-70 f/2.8 L. That's at the moment. Ask me in a few months and it could be the EF 85mm f/1.2 L II - that has been my main lens in the past, and is likely to be again at times in the future. It all depends what I'm shooting, and lately I've been shooting lots of babies... (Wow, never thought I'd actually say that - I'm imagining it being overheard in a pub somewhere.)

mostly my pentax-k 28mm f2.8
February 9th, 2012
50mm f/1.4... but wanting the 24-70mm f/2.8 :)
February 9th, 2012
fisheye...?
Erm, 50mm Ricoh f2
But annoying manual focus occassionally sends me back to my 18-55 stock lens.

I use the 18-250 for a walk around for general stuff and 50mm & 85mm for portrait type outdoor stuff. Love the 50mm and 85mm!

probably the lens on my iphone

Interesting.

For 95% of my portrait work I use a Canon 100-400mm L f4-5.6 but general use (the photos I post here) its a Canon EF 24-105mm f2.8 L

Tamron 17-50 2.8 is my walk around lens.
February 9th, 2012
28-75mm 2.8
February 9th, 2012
Sniff, I only have one (18-55mm) plus a cheap extension tube.
February 9th, 2012
My 18-50 f2.8 is the most used
February 9th, 2012
The one that came with my camera. It's a Nikon 18-55mm, and it lets light in at one end.

9-18mm Olympus MFT
February 9th, 2012
I tend to keep my 70-300 on most of the time but its a close 2nd with the 10-22 ultrawide ( I luv that lens).

Joe
Usually my 50mm f/1.4. It's sharp and lightweight, easy to carry on the camera. The most practical as far as range is the 18-200 vr and the most fun is the 10.5mm fisheye.
February 9th, 2012
50mm 1.8 but i really would love a 50mm 1.4
