I have just purchased a Canon EOS 600D camera !!! Yikes ! I got a tax rebate...and really should have bought a new washing machine, but I didnt and I blame this site (do you think I could ask Ross to pay for it ???)....I'm a newbie since Jan 1st, but have become addicted to all your amazing photos, stories, and I have learnt so much from you.
I have an everyday point and shoot, my Panasonic FS35 and have had a Sony A350 for about 6-7 years, but things have starting to go wrong with it, and so wanted to get a new DSLR. I have been debating like a lot of others for some time whether to go Canon or Nikon. I think the best tip I read on here was to go into a store and have a play around and the camera that feels best in your hand is the one you choose, and it was Canon for me. I also like the fact there are so many second-hand lenses that I can buy, and I look forward to learning how it all works!
I'm being patient and letting the battery charge up properly before using it, so imagine photo of the day will be a photo of the camera to introduce my new baby. I just hope I can take photos as good as ones I have seen on here that have been taken by the 600D. If anyone has any comments or tips about this model I'd be grateful to hear them !!
@agima Congratulations.....that's exciting! I also got a EOS 60D,,,,,just yesterday. I was using a T2i, but a friend of mine wanted a DSLR and had used mine and really liked it, so they got mine, and I got a EOS 60D :-)
I've just bought one (with mismanaged pension compensation!). I'm really pleased with it but still learning - in fact I need to sit down with the instruction book!
Enjoy it!
I was just musing to myself that you know when you're a photographer when you are reading an education blog, see an ad in the corner for a Canon 60D, immediately click the link, drool for 10 minutes and then forget what you were supposed to be reading....
It is a great camera, particularly in "live mode" you can hold the camera above your head and still see where you are pointing it. Since joining this site, I have bought a lot of new equipment - welcome aboard :)
Nah you are going to love it, the capabilities that will give you will just blow your mind...
@olivetreeann - thanks !
