Hey 365 friends! I've been meaning to share this with you all for a while, but time got away from me, and I've never done a topic thingy before, so I wasn't exactly sure how it was done ;) but whatever, we'll see how this works out.
one of my VERY favorite photographers here on 365, Johnathan Diederichs @captivebylife finished his project recently! so I though I'd post some of my favorite photos from him! I look through his project and didn't find a s.i.n.g.l.e. photo that wasn't taken on the right date. no fillers. for THREE HUNDRED AND SIXTY FIVE DAYS! how many of you can say that about your project?!
Johnathan is so talented and it shows in his work. his photos are all so amazing. they're deep, they speak, tell a story, (like any good photo should do) yet are quiet and beautiful in their own way. yeah, like I said -they are amazing. after looking through all of his photos it made me want to cry. they are so beautiful.
and he has twelve followers.
yeah, you saw that right. twelve followers.12. to me, that is plain ridiculous. his photos remind me a lot of the style of @pocketmouse (hope that's a compliment to both of you...) and she has over 1000 followers. I think if everyone has known about him they would have enjoyed his project SO much. Johnathan, your are extremely talented and I hope you go far with your photography!! I also hope that you think this is a good representation of your work. it was SO hard trying to just pick a few!!! ;)

He certainly is a creative guy who flew under the radar. I can't believe he only had 19 followers. I've only been here since January of this year, but I don't think I saw any of his shots until now.
If I have one pet peeve about the 365 it is that it does seem to play favorites with the New Faces and PP pages. It should be display the wotk of more photographers here, but I always seem to see the same names there. The New Faces page often has 4 or more photos of the same person up there when one should surfice. That way it could introduce more photographers whose work hasn't been seen by many others. Also, why is it called New Faces when I see photos from people who already posted over 600 photos? I don't get it.
They are great shots, but he was only following 8 people. To get your pics seen, you need to follow lots, comment, join in discussions and themes. In turn, people will follow you and on goes the circle of 365.....
He commented on one of my shots on his last day, which led me to take a browse through his AMAZING work - I was disappointed that I arrived late to the party - but it was a fairly small party:)
@cromwell That is a peeve for sure...the same people on New Faces for weeks with multiple pictures, I don't get it either. Not that I think anyone cares if I don't get it I'm just sayin.
The number of photos *may* be explained however, I have 296 total photos but I'm only on day 87...I just put a bunch of other stuff in my other 2 albums ;) I was a new face once for like 3 hours tho lol, I guess I'm old news now ;-P
I agree, his work is very good! Popularity on this site (but I guess it's the same everywhere) is also a matter of participation and not only of pic quality.
@cromwell@tamsg4 I totally agree! I must admit the new faces page it kinda drives me nuts! ;) @onie I agree also, to get followers you have to follow others :)

Those shots are incredible. Will have to check out his entire project now. A shame I had no idea!!
