I'm intrigued and maybe I haven't read the story properly. It sounds to me like the man that you 'bought' the dogs from was very poor and didn't have enough money to feed his family. And you gave him a couple of loaves as payment for the two malnourished dogs. Would it not have been more charitable to have given him some money to feed his family for at least a few days rather than giving them food for one lunch? Maybe I'm wrong and I'm sure these aren't the sort of comments that you're after but that's just my take on it.
@beautifulthing What money to the dogs or to the man that couldn't feed his family and therefore left the poor dogs to starve? Okay. I'm being sarcastic. Don't answer that ;)

@kareen It says "for the price of a few loaves of bread." Personally, I reckon the bread may have been more sensible. There's not much you can do with bread except eat it. Money can be used for many things.

If ANYONE, no one, in other words, bothered to read the actual contest details, it is not even based on votes, not that I asked you to pay them at all. It is judged by other parties, of which ONE prize go to the dog/cat who got the most votes.
The contest is about sharing how great pets rescues can be, that you don't always need a pedigree dog to love them just as much.
If someone wants to donate, vote, do so, whether it be my dog, another dog, or a cat, that is not even what I was posting about and it certainly isn't anyone but YOUR choice if you choose to ignore the whole STORY and just see the MONEY element (there's a reason the story is mentioned FIRST on the page people, THAT is what it is about).
GOSH.
How about just making sure of things before attacking people? And how about READING through things nicely?
If I wanted money, I'd have asked for money, if I wanted votes, I'd have asked for votes.
BUT, I wanted to SHARE, thats why I asked you to READ.
I wasnt judging you, I just wanted to know if we had to vote on the photo.. most people that start a discussion with your type of title are asking for votes.. and when I read the story and couldnt find a vote button I just wanted to know , and I never thought you were asking for money.. I did not see anything about asking for money until the comments.. so yes I bothered to read his story and was touched by it.. but was also confused by the title.. is all
@nikkers TO vote, you need to donate, that's why people were talking about money. Every donation in the name of one of the entered pets, counts as a vote, which is a separate category in the contest.
