Is this wrong?

July 24th, 2012
I have finally posted this shot but it worried me all day:
http://365project.org/richwood/365/2012-07-24

It was a very funny scene at the time. The young lady was playing some sort of game on her I-Pad . The game-play had her tapping the screen very fast and hard, had her drawing circles very quickly and what looked like the action of colouring in! When she was rapidly drawing circles, engrossed in the game, she was battering the guy next to her. He was being elbowed in the arm and chest repeatedly... And taking no notice whatsoever.

Now i shot this scene with my iPhone unbeknown to either of them who were engrossed in both game and book.

And that made me feel a little dirty...was it voyeurism and if it was ; was it out of order?

And now I would appreciate your frank comments.

No problem with it at all. Public setting. Great commentary, as well!

No problem at all - a snippit of everyday life...
July 24th, 2012
I didn't find anything inappropriate in this shot. Yeah, you kind of caught her under her skirt, but nothing is really showing. I say it's okay.
July 24th, 2012
You used an Iphone, so yes, very very wrong ;)
July 24th, 2012
I don't see a problem with it....

She may have been playing Draw Something...I p,ay that! It is fun! But I do NOT hit people with elbows to do it. I think this is a cute shot and I do not think either would mind being in it.
July 24th, 2012
nope no problem
July 24th, 2012
nope, nice candid shot, but I wonder did she know him and if not how could she not know she was giving him the elbow..
July 24th, 2012
Ai it's all good. That's what Candids are for...so people are unaware, no matter what device you use.
July 24th, 2012
No knickers on display (just) so safe I reckon ;)
July 24th, 2012
no problem with the shot , prizes for the guy next to her being so tolerant of being elbowed
July 24th, 2012
LOL that is very funny, I find that kids and even some adults start playing these things and totally forget the rest of the world, well captured!
July 24th, 2012
Absolutely fine, you can't identify these people from this, so no privacy issues - and I suspect the guy underneath it all is fuming but being very English about it - I'd have got into a fight with her no problem - blinking space invaders ...
July 24th, 2012
One of those location jokes, had to be there. Video would have been funnier.
July 24th, 2012
There is nothing wrong with this photo at all and you have now got the interest that you wanted... It's a win-win...
July 24th, 2012
i think it is not seriously wrong with the photo. However, i would not like it if i am the person in the photo... so i probably won't do it myself. (also i worried if they find out and beat me up ... )
July 25th, 2012
No, I don't think there's anything wrong here- but I think they're related. No one would tolerate that much hitting from someone they didn't know. Nice candid!

No problem at all; a great candid snapshot! Very interesting topic though, as even I am caught up in "social correctness" on occasion, particularly when I have the inkling to follow an artist on here only to find out she is a 14-year-old-girl; no matter how good of a photographer she is I always feel a bit ... weird... commenting on her photos lest someone label me a perv. I know I am not alone in this; check out the comments left for some of these girls sometime and see how many men comment. Like this one: http://365project.org/agavegirl13/365/2012-07-16
Only 4 of the 49 commenters were men, and this is an outstanding shot!! Strange behavior indeed :)
To hell with it, I am going to comment! Make that 5 of 50 :)

@grizzlysghost Aaron I missed that photo...it's good. Fav'ed it.

With regards to Richard's photo there's nothing wrong with it. I actually think a short video of this would have been very funny. For me I just don't take photos of folks I do not know.

Thanks for all your candid comments people. Its clear that the majority of you are cool with the shot which I am really pleased about. I will monitor the reaction of the friends and family who are not our side of the camera today... I wonder if the reaction will be the same!

thanks again for taking the time,

@gphelps5 We all crave a little attention sometimes!
@grizzlysghost that really is a stunning shot

I think this is one of the reasons I and many others struggle with street or public shots.you never can be sure how people will react and be a girlie that scares me! having said that the few times I have done it people have been fine.I think this shot is great and you shouldnt feel bad about it they are never going to know really are they? if you were plastering all over the internet it may be different.
July 25th, 2012
That is the fun of street shots, catching people unaware in odd situations.
I don't see any problem with it and if in the unlikely event of either of them seeing it and objecting, well all you have to do is delete it.
No probs.

Nod
If you feel a little dirty I should feel like ..... :-)

July 25th, 2012
@viranod He could be using a Brownie Box camera as far as anyone could tell. I would wonder about the artwork on the wall.... :-)
