Sue
I must say that since I have joined the 365project not only have I picked up some tips on how to improve my photography skills but also I have been learning about other things as well. While scanning through your pics I find myself wanting to know more about things such as do horses sleep standing up or laying down, or what the name for that particular flower is or what country is that food famous in. And with myself, I had to do some research to post with a picture that I took because I needed to know more about what I was sharing with you. This project is helping me to reach out and acquire knowledge because it is just so darn interesting and real! I love this site, and the people on here are very VERY talented. I look forward to viewing each and everyones pics and try to comment on as many as I can. Forgive me if I don't always acknowledge your comments, I look forward to reading them each day also and they always make the corners of my mouth go skyward. So in keeping with this weeks theme - PEACE to all :D

Sue, I agree with you! I am definitely learning a lot more about my surroundings, particularly all the beautiful weeds and wildflowers I've been discovering. I also am enjoying getting to know the other 365-ers through their comments and eyes. What a wonderful community this is!

I agree! I follow people mostly because I like their photos. But I love when there is a story behind it, or simply a description of why that person chose to take that pic that day, and what it means. I love to read about other cultures and places in the world.

when i started the project i didn't expect to become part of a community. i was (am) doing the project for myself was surprised to get any followers and i surprised myself by getting so involved. it is yet another way to learn and grow - and i'm not just talking about photography :)

Ditto to everything you said. I am getting so much more out of this project than I ever dreamed.

I, too, enjoy a story behind the photo. I also like photos that tell a story. I find the themes get me to looking at the everyday things around me in a different light. And, I love seeing photos of where everyone lives or travels. It is great fun to see the photo you made on your way to or from work, or your back yard. Even weather related pictures fascinate me. This is such a nice arm chair view of places I have not been.

Definitely getting more out of this than I ever expected. Also didn't expect to get so addicted to 365. When we didn't have a computer for about a week, this was the site I was missing checking everyday!

Sue, I agree whole heartedly. This project has been awesome. It has made me look for new approaches every day. The talent on here is awesome. The photos are so refreshing and they offer the individual a variety of new approaches. The friends on here are awesome and very supportive. Its been an awesome experience, and I too like to make sure to view all the photos of those I follow and comment on them. It does take a lot of time, but all in all, I love it.

I couldn't agree more! It's arm-chair traveling, a song to cheer & move you, a compelling quotation, exceptional commentary, information from without, and a reason to research and share. Back in January I expected to take and see "pictures", but the community, the personalities and the talent have become so much more than I ever expected! Nicely done, ya'll!

Sue, I just dicovered your thread and I couldn't agree more!!!! I feel the same way about 365!! I love this site and I am learning so much from it everyday!! When I joined, I had no idea my project will be shared with so many amazing people who inspire me every day! It's not just about taking a photo for each day, it's more like an enriching experience that expands your horizons and brings you closer to what life is about! ;-))

P.S. I hope you don't mind, I loved so much what you've written and I referenced you in Katie's thread: http://365project.org/discuss/general/1416/365-feelings-and-thoughts

Smiles ;-)))

I also agree! I try and write a story with every photo so that people know what they are looking at.

I am always inspired to do better since I joined this project and I think I have definitely improved my skills, or at least I hope so!

WOW! This is why I love this site! The photographs are incredible, everyone has a story to tell. Louise, I love your "armchair traveling" that phrase is amazing! The strong sense of community, mutual respect, and inspiration that I feel when on this site is astounding to me!

I only just joined this group in July (although I had been doing the project independent of this site since Jan) and I can already see my creativity & desire to take fun & different shots has really blossomed since seeing what everyone is putting out for me on this site.

So thanks to everyone for the inspiration, the supportive comments and all the good vibes!
