I was with Michelle (@michelle58) and her camera dropped from a low height. All seemed fine until she put a macro filter on. The macro filter now seems jammed onto the lens and we are unable to get it off
She has a Panasonic DMC-GF3 dslr with a 52mm lens.
The filter is not precious but the lens is required. Any suggestions for getting the filter off?
Thanks :)
Instead of gripping the filter on the sides, place the flat of your hand over the front of the filter and twist like that. By gripping the filter at the sides, you will introduce minor distortion in the threads that can make it bind, particularly if the lens side has plastic threads.
If all else fails, any decent independent camera store should stock filter wrenches -- they're very cheap and designed for just this eventuality.
I've had the same problem and I panicked. I was outside during the summer when it happened. Later on, when the camera was inside where there was air conditioning, I was able to get it off...so I'd try what @simon0128 said.

Thankyou Monika for starting the discussion....and thankyou to everyone else for your suggestions, l tried cooling it down, l tried the mouse pad, rubbergloves.. strength...in the end my husband put it in the vice very gently but with firm pressure and it came off undamaged ...the day it came off was the November-word challenge - macro - lol so l had to put it back on, which l did without any problems...so once again thankyou!!
@farscapephotography Thanks , l will do this, it makes a lot of sense:) @monika64 it did...l also finally saw a jumping spider at work, grabbed my camera, thinking the macro was still on, but had left it at home...so l had to let him go:)
