I don't remember what I did with mine! Unexpectedly had to wait in line for an hour and by the time I got home, my older son was literally eating my shoe because he was so hungry. I will see if I can dig it up.
@peterdegraaff this is discussed over here as voting is less than 50% at national eletions and as low as 25% at local and also at european elections... but view is its a right not to vote..!!
We are a mail-in ballot state... I miss going to the polls. This is my "thankful" post for today...
Election Day
6 November - In spite of the fact that I feel fortunate to live in a country where I can vote for the leaders of my choice, I am VERY thankful that today marks the end of the insane number of phone calls and TV ads that we have been bombarded with during the way-too-long campaign season.
@peterdegraaff I just saw a tweet about that! How very interesting!!
And my sticker from 4 years ago is in my profile pic ;) This years are still on the camera lol. And gah I need to quit watching election coverage & get ready for bed!!
@andycoleborn We have a right not to vote. You go a polling place, collect your ballot papers and not vote by putting a cross through them. It is called an informal vote
@andycoleborn As Peter @peterdegraaff says, it's compulsory to turn up to the booth and have our names crossed off but nobody's forcing us to actually vote; we can mark our papers in any way we like. Therefore we have quite a large informal vote. But I would say that our percentage of those who do vote is probably be much higher as a result of compulsory attendance than it would be if it were not.
@michaelelliott Let's hope that those in power have learned something over the last 4 years and the last couple of months and even though there aren't changes in the government, they decide to make some changes in the governing.
@5unflow3r I voted but I didn't get a "voting" picture for the day. :( Even got my children to vote in the kid's vote online. One Democrat, and one Libertarian. I don't know how that happened. ;D
@meisen325 - I don't recall Washington and the country being so bitterly partisan. Just terrible how entrenched both sides get. Haha I didnt even notice who or what was on those screens as I was timing the flags blowing.
@michaelelliott It is kind of strange that after all of that stress and ads, and stuff that things stayed the same...the election could almost have been skipped altogether.
I am so glad that you got 30 Rock. I was hoping that someone would---I thought that the building looked so cool.
I'd like to add a 'none of the above' option
I hope these people who waited in line to vote got stickers.
Minnesota style!
Her election pins she received as a poll worker over the last 12 years.

My kids were both old enough to vote in their first US presidential election. I think I feel old.
