With me it's usually the memory card, still slotted into the computer. I've now bought a spare battery and have a spare memory card slotted into my coin purse. Now all I have to remember is to take them too.....!
Good to know we're not alone..... @sam_cr
I have 3 batteries, so that I've always got one in the camera, one fully charged in the camera case (or two if I'm really organised) and one on charge (until fully charged) and rotate them like that - its become such a habit now that I just automatically rotate them and I've always got a spare in my case if my batt runs out :0)
I put my camera next to the charger if the battery is charging.... now for a way to stop leaving the sd card in the laptop. @sarajeal beautiful organisation!
@filsie65 LOL the memory card - i never forget that because i never take it out i connect the camera to the computer via usb... solves that problem... but not the battery problem! haha im pleased im not the only one whos forgetful with camera gear! :)
Got so fed up with doing this...and the memory card thing, that I now have 3 batteries like @sarajeal If I'm out and one runs down I do have to remember to recharge when I get home though...which reminds me...;o)
I haven't forgot the battery [yet] but went to a shoot for my brother with the memory card still in the laptop at home grrrrrrrrrr ~ and I have a spare that i keep in the backpack, but I took the small bag this time ~ more grrrrrrrrrr
@sam_cr@m9f9l@cheribug I used to leave the door open but read that dust can get to the sensor through battery and memory card doors. Now I leave camera by charger.
Hang your car keys or bus pass on the battery. I left for a video shoot one time and forgot a tape. Lucky for me a fellow videographer was on the same scene and let me borrow a tape. I saw him months later on a scene and he had a dead battery. I let him borrow my battery to get his shots. That's friendly professional competition!
I'm thinking of getting a third battery as I was out the other day and the one in the camera went down and I put the spare in and found that had run out too (I thought I'd charged it but must have been mistaken). Unfortunately, with my Nikon coolpix P510, you have to charge in the camera (shame on Nikon). It means I usually have to charge in the evenings or at night!
Good to know we're not alone..... @sam_cr
@sarajeal beautiful organisation!
But its easy to say and harder to do :-)
