I want a meet-up! Is anyone up for one some time between now and Christmas? I am thinking that a Saturday or Sunday would be best...and sometime in the mid afternoon, say 2-4 p.m. Downtown is the venue I am thinking.
I think @lyno is in Cincy if I recall correctly. I'm not sure if it would be feasible for me to do it between now and Christmas or not, since its a far enough drive I'd end up getting a hotel, so between food, gas and lodging, I'm not sure the holiday's are the time for me to do it. I'll have to check out my budget
AMANDA! You rock. . .thanks so much for trying this! I am definitely in if the final time will work. One thing to think about: if the run up to Christmas is too crazy for everyone, what about sometime in the week between Christmas and New Year's Eve? I definitely have some time off coming! I'm getting my new camera this week or next, so anytime next week on would work for me! I have winter break starting on the 15, so that onward would be great!

@amandalomonaco - Amanda. I have no preference. I am retired and available LOL ... although I suspect Thursday would be the least "traffic" day ... and I don't want to drive in a lot of traffic.
@dlaxton I have 3 kids and for me to be sane and able to shoot it needs to be on a weekend for me. I think that at least one other is in the same boat and then there is work for some. I sure hope that you and Jeff can carpool together and make it!
@amandalomonaco - Weekends are fine. Of coiurse, there is only one weekend between Christmas and New Years LOL , so that keeps it simple. Can we end up at the Rathskeller (that is the name of the place in KY that overlooks the river isn't it)?

Amanda has my email, but if other folks want to include me on any group emails, I'm at SJOblues@aol.com. @jsw0109 I was actually vaguely thinking of heading to Indianapolis for an overnight between Christmas and New Year's (weather depending) because 1) I collect the Hard Rock Cafe guitar-shaped pins and, believe it or not, don't have one from Indy although I live right here between Cincy and Dayton, and 2) Roberts Camera looks like it might be a fun store to visit. As well as other possible photo opportunities that would just be different from Cincinnati.
@jsw0109 29th or 30th? That gives us a bit more time to plan. I've been wanting to do this for awhile, just waited for it to happen and it didn't. My background is events planning, so what the heck...I needed to do it. And the year is almost over. Sorry for the less than stellar timing.
I can try and make it between Christmas and New Years too. There wont be a new baby quite yet so I'll be carrying my big belly around with my camera. LOL. Maybe walking around Cincinnati will move things right along. That would really give you guys something to photograph.
@lyno Lyn I haven't been to Dodd in Kenwood, but I work in Moraine so the Dayton Mall location is near my office. I've bought a few things there, and I like the quality of their prints -- which are less expensive and (in my opinion) higher quality than Cord Camera.

@amandalomonaco As far as I know, I'm in. Thanks for coordinating this. There is not a Bengals game that day, so that will help with parking availability if we select downtown as the meet-up point.

There is a great huge parking lot there under the whole park...with the added incentive of the gorgeous view of the Roebling Bridge. AND it is possible then to walk the bridge from there across to "my" city view spot! ;->

I was born and raised in New Hampshire and don't mind driving in snow, but I DO mind how many other people drive in snow. Plus, who wants to carry around a camera in punky weather?
I could go either way. Im all for walking this baby out, on the other hand, I am kind of a wimp in cold weather. I'll just keep checking the post today to see where we go from here....

@amandalomonaco@lyno@cdonohoue Any word on whether we might reschedule this gathering for this coming weekend (Sat., Jan 5)? I'm asking because my photo club is planning a "scoot 'n' shoot" gathering this Saturday in Dayton, and I need to make a choice. :)
@amandalomonaco Weather.com says Saturday will be 38 degrees, mostly sunny, 10% chance of precipitation. So, sounds good. I would pick the 365 gathering, I think, because that was a previous (albeit postponed) commitment AND it doesn't involve driving to Dayton, which I do every day to go to work. Who wants to go to Dayton on a weekend if it can be avoided?? :)
@amandalomonaco P.S. and the Bengals are playing an away game Saturday, so parking worries on the riverfront are avoided if we stick with the Banks as the meetup location.

So folks, the weather is looking awfully sketchy for tomorrow...windy, freezing and flurries. Should we meet up as planned or postpone? Any thoughts?
