Sorry I Haven't Been Around

December 22nd, 2012
I've been dealing with a lot of health and personal problems for a while. Then just found out 2 days ago that my twin 24 yr, old grandson has a personal type cancer. If I mentioned where it was he would be very upset. It's been a shock to all of us and he just had surgery on Thursday, so a lot has been happening and the camera has been the last thing on my mind.

Thanks for all the suggestions,
Granny7

SEE NEW COMMENT ON THE ONGOING THINGS!

Brendan, hasn't been doing to well and has had a set back. He's back in pain and I think he did to much and just generally isn't feeling well. I am so worried about him. The good news is that he was offered the job at the Law Firm where he interned these past two summer's. Now to get well and get through his last semester of Law School where he has worked so hard for 2 1/2 yrs.

@granny7 Linda, sorry you have had health problems and I do hope that you are feeling recovered now. I'm also sorry to hear about your grandson. Our son was the same age when he was diagnosed with (I just imagine) a similar cancer. It was of course a great shock to us and to him. He had the op and chemo but has now been well for 16 years. So I optimistically send all best wishes to you for your grandson.

@quietpurplehaze I'm sure you know the kind of cancer I'm referring to. I'm so glad that your son has done well for so long, so I feel hopeful for Brendan. Just not sure if he has chemo if he is going to be able to continue his last semester of Law School? He's in another city.

@granny7 Well the chemo our son had took place over 3/4 months and involved staying just overnight in hospital each time. He was rather ill after a couple of the sessions though and had tohave blood transfusions. It was a difficult time but we got through it and he's been in good health since.

It is very hard when 'personal' cancers strike the young....always unexpected. Usually very curable when caught quickly. Hugs and prayers to you and yours.

My thoughts are with you all through this difficult time but potentially this is probably a very curable cancer and I hope your grandson is progressing nicely. Keep your chin up

@granny7. Linda. Sorry to hear about health issues for you. And bless your grandson. My oldest was 25 when he was diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma... (found out later started in a very personal area). He is 31 now and doing well. He also reenlisted mid treatment; he went through 6 months of chemo where he was hospitalized a week at a time and then several weeks of radiation. Keep positive my friend...it is a doable thing..

Oh, Linda. . .don't ever feel that you have to apologize for an absence. Just know we've missed you and that we're all sending best wishes winging your (and your grandson's) way!

Linda - Life happens and sometimes it interrupts our plans - you and your grandson and all your family are in my thoughts and prayers - when you all come through this and can think beyond the moment again we will all be here. So many of us are survivors of this illness that I know your situation is well understood and accepted - be and do what you have to - we are all thinking of you with love and every healing thought and prayer.

@cromwell Thank you so much, they definitely are needed right now.
@kbalychev I will definitely try. Not sure how next year is going to turn out, a lot of things could change.

@quietpurplehaze Hazel, sorry to hear that. I am so concerned about Brendan. I don't know if he'll be able to finish Law School if he's that sick? I hear it affects some and other's it doesn't and I hate that he's out of town, so their is a lot of things up in the air.
@lynnb Thank you Lynn, Merry Christmas to you.
@rosiekind Yes Rosie, it is suppose to be very curable. Just don't know how advanced his is yet.
@nadaa Thanks Nada, I appreciate your concern.
@jodimuli Joey, everyone has been so kind and it's so appreciated.

@cheribug Sorry to hear about your son and glad that he is doing so well. I know it's doable, just so much involved for a Grad student who prides himself on good grades and already has a job waiting for him.
@tbats22 I appreciate it so much.
@lyno I have missed everyone so much, but life has been really rough for a while and the last thing I wanted to do was take a picture.

@kittikat Thanks so much Kitti, prayer's always are so needed, along with positive thoughts. I'm hanging in there, but just by a thread.
Have a nice Christmas.
