www.lightseeking.com
Firstly full disclosure - Totally inspired by Paul Jones work @jonesp and my new website does have the same look and feel as we seem to like the same themes (coastal seascapes).
There, thats out of the way - please check out my new website and provide me ideas on how to evolve the site - Pleeeaase
Beautiful website. I love the "About Me" section and the ability to see all the thumbnails.
My two suggestions would be to incorporate the ability to do a slideshow of pictures and perhaps to use a black background. I find that I tend to appreciate most pictures more on a dark background.
I am not an expert by any means. Just giving my opinion since you asked.
I like it a lot Paul. It's simple and unfussy so that you can look at the images without too much fuss. I can't quite tell what the thumbnail in the top left is. I think it's a pier but not sure. Maybe this isn't an issue but I think it's maybe a bit too complex an image??
There's a few apostrophe's missing in the about me section but I like the way it's written. Very personable. I'd also like to see a photo of the person behind the lens. But that's just me. One other thing that I just noticed is that there's a spelling error in Leonard Misonne's quotation: 'ennables'. Oh and one other thing. Sorry. For your captions on the front page. Use full stops on all the captions or leave them out entirely. It's a small thing but I do think it's the small things that matter. Best of luck.
Sorry one other thing that I just noticed. I see that your website is found at lightseeking.com but this isn't used as a headline anywhere on your page. Looking at the page it looks like your website is called 'Seeking light through a lens'. People could get confused. I really do think the words Lightseeking should be the main headline and maybe the seeking... should be used as a subhead.
I'm going to go on over and like your facebook page now.
@kareen brilliant feedback Kareen. I thought it was a bit raw and still work in progress. This is great feedback and I'll be on it this week ;-) Need to get a better selfie of myself - god i hate selfies !
No 5 in the B&W and No 6 in the Venice are exceptional in an array of talent!
Well done thou good and faithful 365er.
I look forward to seeing more in 2013!
@sparkle thanks Juliette. I followed Paul Jones lead @jonesp as he recommended Squarespace as a host / tool. It works pretty well. Pauls own site at www.shenickisland is fabulous. I plan to add my 365 project and a blog when I have time next. Any thoughts on navigation or additions very welcome ;-) Next up is how to master search engine optimisation ! I cant even spell it let alone do it
Just a few additions to Kareen's very thoughtful post :-) @kareen
In the "about" section you actually say "Welcome to Light Seeking" so it looks like you yourself were intending to call it that? People need to see things a few times for it to etch into their brain, so putting the title on the pages might be a good idea :-)
This sentence had me scratching my head: "I would be very happy to work with you to capture truly great moments.." That sounds like something from a portraiture site; Is that where you are heading? If so, then a few portraits would be a good idea, otherwise I think this needs more clarification.
and now for the nitpickiness :-) I suggest saying that Venice is one of the most beautiful cities you've visited to fend off the preposition police.
@sparkle My daughter finds free or very inexpensive ways to give Christmas presents. This year my present was a website!LOL Considering she's a bit of a Luddite, it was very thoughtful of her. I'm actually kind of embarrassed because she keeps asking me if I've done anything with it, and I don't really feel that I have pics worthy of putting at a "site" yet! Not like these amazing shots of Paul's!!
@jonesp thanks Paul. Still lots to do but independent feedback is great. Can't see for looking when building it yourself. See you next week, beer sounds good
Is Paul talking about a virtual get together? Because if you're really gonna see each other, have him take your profile pic! :-) And if he's not nearby, find a 365er who is. You KNOW they'd be thrilled!

The one thing that did jump out at me was the logo. It kinda gets lost at that small size.
Congratulations again on the launch!
