Aces Question from a Newby

January 4th, 2013
Is it beneficial to pay the $19.99/year? Please share your insight on what you love about the paid version vs the free. Thank you!

I have paid for the Ace membership in order to support Ross and his website. Otherwise, there's very little difference in the "free" v. ace levels. I ended up going Ace after about a month, when I felt I was committed to my first project. Hope that helps!

I have Ace and I think it's well worth the money, you can see your stats, check out who has fav'd your pictures and there is the tab Suggestions which is for ace members it shows you other pictures you might like based on what you have viewed before :D

Jo
I love having the extra albums, they are great if you want to do challenges and if you have more than one photo per day that you love and want to post. It's also fun to see your statistics, which photos are being viewed etc. It's also a small contribution to help Ross keep the site going. It is such a brilliant place, as you will soon learn, and well worth $20 in my opinion.

I paid primarily to support such an amazing site, I'm hoping to remain "pure" with the 365 album by only posting for the day I took the photo - I'm using the other two albums to share some of my fav photos I've taken over the years. I think you get extra features too but I'm new so learning day by day. I think it's worth it :)

I like ace for the extra albums so I can post that other photo I was tossing up about posting :)

I also chose this option to support the web site. And the extra albums are great for competitions and extra photos.
January 4th, 2013
Well worth it, the extra albums and to keep the site!
January 4th, 2013
well, it's not a lot of money and it helps support the site... and you end up being able to post 3 shots per day if you want, rather than two... i can't recall what else you get? your stats maybe? if you can't see your stats now, it is a fun feature to have... let's you know how many views your photos are getting.... which ones are considered your top rated at any point in time... stuff like that :)

Extra albums, statistics on views and comments, suggestion features, plus helping Ross keep the site running....I don't regret paying for it

Ace is absolutely worth the money. Hell, with this website + this community; I'd pay double!

(... hehe @scrivna ... just a figure of speech... maybe I would and maybe I wouldn't... :))

In all honesty though, yes, well worth it!
January 4th, 2013
@grizzlysghost I would probably pay double too :)

All the neat features everyone mentioned: daily/weekly/monthly stats, tailored suggestions on others' photos you might like, option to edit in picmonkey and replace your photo, etc. I just renewed in fact! Making this my 3rd year being an ace member, I think? Definitely worth it, and once you grow to love this community it will feel great to know you're contributing to it.

@tracywilliams @grizzlysghost Ditto!

@scrivna *lightbulb* Too bad the holiday season just passed. There should be an option to gift ace membership if enough people are interested.. Just throwing that out there ;)

Best $20 I spent in the last year!
January 4th, 2013
Totally worth the $20 for an entire year for this community!! And then being able to have extra albums is great and seeing your stats is fun. But for the community alone it is worth more than $20!
January 4th, 2013
Thanks for asking this question, i've been thinking about this too. After reading all these glowing comments i'm def thinking about upgrading.
January 4th, 2013
I read through this, and thought, "hey, why the heck not?" It's only $20 for an entire year, and already seeing the stats is neat!
January 4th, 2013
Totally worth the money, not only for the extras you get but to help support such an amazing community!!!
January 4th, 2013
Yeah, you should pay up to support the site if you use it regularly. Test it out for a few weeks first maybe. Also you get access to your original uploads, which can be useful if you dont keep them well organised elsewhere (which you should ;-) )
January 4th, 2013
For support and extra albums to do the challenges. Definitely worth it.
January 4th, 2013
I paid mainly to support the site, but the benefits are pretty good. I'm running a parallel monochrome project which has become if anything more important to me than the 365 one ... also being able to retrieve files at the original size means an additional backup.
January 4th, 2013
Thank you SO much everyone for the replies! I'm going to give it a go for a few weeks and then if I use it like I plan to, I'm going to definitely join to support the site. :o) Nice to meet such a great group of people! @automaticslim @jannkc @twocups @jsorensenart @zrhanson @smallbirdonawire @mmartin @attraversi @nancyperry @attraversi @tracywilliams @grizzlysghost @tjs_world_part_2 @northy @httpgeffed @swguevin @emsabh @joeymc @ingrid2101 @tammeray @swguevin

Ive already learnt so much in my four days of my project from this site... Info worth way more than my $20... I also liked having the second album as i dont want my theme/comp photos to count in my project...
January 4th, 2013
@Scrivna I know you're a busy man....but I'm really lost on the whole monkey thing.....where do I use it?
January 4th, 2013
@shaedreams, once you have uploaded and saved a photo, in the right hand side there is an "edit with picmonkey" button, you can edit your photo and save it back to your album.
January 4th, 2013
If you are referring to editing a photo with Picmonkey, the option is to the right of your photo. Click on one of your photos here on 365. On the right is a vertical column with choices, one of which is "Edit Photo With Picmonkey." Click on that and you are on your way!
