This week I had a big surprise, in that one if the photos that I thought wouldn't impress got probably my biggest reaction ever. Thought it would be fun to share. Has anyone else gotten a surprise reaction from a photo this week?

Not a super huge reaction, but some very flattering comments...when I didn't expect to get a single one! This photo was taken at the last minute with zero inspiration!
I would say my photo from my 3rd album yesterday...a photo of my 13 year old son. I love it, but I'm also the mom :)
I'm trying to work on portraiture - I have done VERY little, and I was expecting way fewer comments (wow, another picture of someone's kid) and I CERTAINLY didn't expect anyone to favorite it....
this wqas my fovorite that I took but it is not my favorite of all time but it has really gone off with a bang 261 views, and 17 likes... I guess beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.
@matejaseliskar I had seen that photo of yours and favorited it a day or two ago that really was awesome :) I work for coke so I have an affinity to soda cans hehe
This one, I did it because I found the fabulous pear, it was fun and such a simple shot, so easy and yet... 677 views so far and 32 faves!!!
A terrific response but a big surprise!
This was only taken to remind Mr. Man why he accomplished nothing on his honey-do list and wound up being the best thing I had that day. My 54 views sound kinda pitiful next to 677, but that's a pretty high # for me.
This is the one and only time I made the popular page - ages ago when the site felt a little more "cozy." I am the Mom, so of course I thought it was funny. I was just surprised so many people agreed!
@matejaseliskar I believe your photo also made the front page (the home page of the site). Well done! And you made the flower yourself... very impressive!
because i wasnt actually photographing the hopper , my fella dropped it on the flower that i was using and this was the result , i thought a bit borring but others seemed to like it :)
this one for me - i was in desperation mode - no photos all day as stuck running a workshop and it finished late. met a pal in this pub. literally stood my P&S on the wall clicked once and ran inside to meet him! made the PP and got favourited, I guess we all see something different in each other's work!
@parisouailleurs funny isn't it, how you grow to like something because everyone else did! I've got a lot of shots now that i've learned to "see" the good things rather than be critical, in fact I sometimes post shots just to look for the "something" that others find!
I"m going to take this subject in the opposite direction. This is the picture that has gotten the least response, which has really surprised me. I took it yesterday (1/28) and it only has 6 views where as the picture that I took on the 2nd of January, which is absolutely horrible has 63 views, so I'm not sure what to make of this.
31 post on this and I just ran with the idea others had done the book heart only taking it to the next level by adding my husbands wedding ring (mine was to heavy) and it ended up looking like a angel.
my husband had taken the camera on a weekend away! so this was a filler photo... i'd taken it the week earlier... bit of an odd shot never really expected any comments!!
This one is a big surprise for me... I never thought that people will like it, because I am aware that there are more amazing photos of water droplets and related to it... and this one got into the recent popular by the Magic Monkeys.
This one felt like a filler pic to me but has gotten the most views of all my photos. Funny how that goes. I wonder if it has to do with when you post it? Who's online and such? Not sure...
this was my first attempt at a "macro" shot (i don't have a real macro lens). i didn't think it was all that great, especially compared to the amazing macros that i've seen on here, but it got a much better response than i ever imagined. thanks!
@mikichelle I'll be honest, I was already rather drunk by this point, I can shoot away pretty well usually but that timing and unexpectedness, everyone seems to love this, I didn't expect and am lucky to have framed it at all - it's a rare thing I turn my SLR round on myself...
I got 56 views on this one, which is really good for me. I thought it was cute, but nothing special. And I probably got the same number of comments on this one as I had all my photos previously combined. Really made my week.
This picture ended up on the PP (only my second to make it) and I never thought it would get much attention at all! I'm glad it did, and I think it made me appreciate it more!

This one got 42 views which I was quite suprised by since I only have 15 followers and I didn't really get the best angle to really show the crystals and how they actually formed imho.
This one for sure...ended up on the popular page. I liked the double yolks but, it was such a quick shot and the pan handle is dirty...bothers me to no end!!!
This shot of my kids got an amazing amount of views.
Obviously I really like this shot myself but I thought it was too personal to generate a lot of interest from others. Happily I was wrong :)
While I don't get a ton of traffic on my page, I did not expect anyone to comment on this one at all. I took it as a joke for my husband. It's not my favorite at all, but did get comments from those I don't know, as well as comments on FB. Silly.
This blew my mind I've got 36 followers and yet I've had 299 views and 8 favs, and to my mind there are 100 things wrong with the shot, this project is just such an amazing creative experience...
