Hi guys! Maybe you can help me, because Google search is not. Is there such a thing as a “tracker” to put on your lens(?) for holding focus, particularly with birds in flight? Or am I just dreaming that I’ve heard something about this???
@shesnapped All I know is that I can change the AF on my camera to tracking. I have not tried it yet though. It would be interesting to find out if there is another option ;-)
Yes- I have one made by Olympus. The OM-D (EE-1 "Out Sight"). It was recommended to me by a man who takes amazing bird shots. Mine works with my Canon T3i. I'm not sure if it works with every brand but it'd be safe to assume that if Olympus makes one for Canon, they make one for the other major sellers too. It's not as hard as it sounds. The device gets set for where you're expecting the birds to be that way when they arrive (say at a bird feeder) all you have to do is shoot- the camera and tracker do all the work. But I confess I'm lazy about setting it up because you do need a tripod for it to do what it does best.
