not sure how long, hopefully no longer than a week!!!... my husband ( well soon to be ex after today!! ;-) ) did something to my laptop last night, he mentioned something about it needing to be re-booted, not sure what he did after that because I turned it on today and its in recover mode and error signs popping up everywhere... BUT...
...THE WORST PART.... ALL my photos are gone :( :(
10 months of kids photos, the birth of our son Nathan, 365 photos, all gone!!!!! The only type of back ups I have are on here and FB... and of course, the external hard drive was still on the 'to-buy-list'... I have a computer friend who said he will be able to recover them...I can only hope!!
I'll keep taking photo's everyday, just not sure when they will appear on here....like I said, hopefully only a few days to a week!
wow, thats very heart breaking. there are some places you can take your pc. laptop to try and recover your info and pics. I would see if you can find a local place , I have read that you shouldnt do anything with it, until you take it to one of these places..
There is a chance they can be recovered. My computer crashed a couple of weeks ago and my husband did a recovery on it. My pics were still there . I lost all my emails and addresses, but I can live without those. The best of luck to yoiu! I am so sorry this happened!
Fingers crossed you can get everything recovered. The hard-drive on my Mac has died twice now, and each time I was able to get recovered. The second time was looking dicey, as the drive had physical damage, but it's amazing what they can do.

I'm an IT professional, they can be recovered very easily. From experience and knowledge it is impossible to foul up a computer to the point of loosing files.
When my hard drive crashed, I sent the old hard drive in for a replacement because it was still under warranty. I just assumed I had lost everything (photos being the only thing I really cared about). Anyway, after I installed the new hard drive, I was told by a computer geek that he could have probably recovered all the photos from the old hard drive. I feel pretty sure your photos can be recovered ~ fingers crossed. Oh, after my disaster the first thing I did was buy a backup system. :)
I'd sit down and cry!! Something similiar happened to my Mum and the tech guy got everything back no problem. You'll be fine, just don't let hubby near the computer unsupervised! lol
Backup, backup, backup. Be sure you have multiples too. ACK!!!! I've gone through this. It is so frustrating. Computers are not absolute and fail. If you don't have an external backup, then get dvds, flashdrives, anything you can archive your photos onto and then put them someplace safe. After they are recovered, make backups.
oh no oh no. oh no. i am so sorry. shoot....talk to a tech person. i know that there is a way to get back to like one week. my husband did it for me. there is a setting that reboots your computer and you can select the date that you want it to go back to. it was on our ibm... shoot..so sorry

...his mate has come to the rescue and has promised me all my photo's are safely hiding in my computer somewhere, so I will get them back :) :)
I forgot to take a photo yesterday though :(
Hopefully I will be back to uploading soon....feeling rather lost without 365, lol and it's only been one day!
