I probably have a lot of these - -especially song inspired. This is my favorite -- I was listening to Mumford and Sons this day. Awake My Soul is one of my favorite songs they sing.

What a fun discussion! I've done two that I can think of, the first inspired by a Nick Cave song with the line, "they're mopping up the butcher's floor":

And this one inspired by the Depeche Mode song "Personal Jesus":

August 19th, 2011
It happened to me yesterday, just as you described: I was taking this picture and the song 'Broken Wings' by Mr. Mister played in my head all the time!

August 19th, 2011
I do that all the time! Either songs or movies or movie quotes. Here is yesterday's: Signed, Sealed, Delivered...I'm Yours!

Friday Night Lights after the recently ended TV show.
August 20th, 2011

Took this one on my anniversary and the Grover Washington Jr. song seemed to be just the right song & title for the picture and the day.
August 20th, 2011

And now for something completely different... this one was part of the S challenge for August but the minute I decided on the effect, Roger Water's song "Radio Waves" stuck in my head, so I included part of the lyrics in my commentary.
August 20th, 2011
I tend to work the other way around, actually - I take a picture, and then find an appropriate song to use as the title!
August 20th, 2011
Leonard Cohen's Anthem ....."there's a crack in everything / that's how the light gets in"
August 20th, 2011
That Day, on the Beach (borrowed from Edward Yang's first film) seemed appropriate for a title.

I always connect words with songs. Seriously, I have several friends who have introduced me as "This is the one I told you has a song for any word. Go ahead and say a word, she will sing you a song associated with it." And those friends do not know each other which makes it more true. Anyway, I have several photos that have been inspired by a song or titles of photos inspired by songs.

This was todays... "The Shadow Proves The Sunshine" by Switchfoot

I titled this one "Blind Faith" but it reminded me of the song "Wilderness" by the OC Supertones

"Splish Splash" By Bobby Darin

I titled this one "I Got The Pink Slip Daddy" after the verse in "Little Deuce Coup" by The Beach Boys

"Lovely Feet" by Mayfair Laundry

Titled "Best Dressed" after a verse in the song "Your Love Is Strong" by Switchfoot"

"Concrete Girl" by Switchfoot

"Hands and Feet" by Audio Adrenaline

"Until The Sun" by PAX 217

"That's Amore" by Dean Martin

"In The Light" by dcTalk

"Dandelions" by Five Iron Frenzy

"Poker Face" by Lady GaGa

"Jingle Bells"

Wow! I did this more times than I thought. Haha!

I have so many inspired from songs or books. In July I did a week of photos inspired by songs (4th July onwards if you want to look, I won't post them all here).

This one was for Valentines day and inspired by Carol Ann Duffys poem Valentine:

One of my sons favourite books is Harry and the bucketful of dinosaurs, so this was our take on it:

On seeing a half moon a quote from Terry Pratchetts Carpe Jugulum sprang to mind
"Granny flew high above the roaring treetops, under a half moon. She distrusted a moon like that. A full moon could only wane, a new moon could only wax, but a half moon, balancing so precariously between light and dark... well, it could do anything."

My photo from yesterday brought to mind a Pratchett quote too. I have a lots of other photos in my albums linked with quoted from Pratchetts books.

This one brought to mind the Foo Fighters song Miss The MIsery with the lyrics "You're Wasting Light", that was also due to things which were happening at the time too
