what kind of photos do you hate?

October 17th, 2011
this site is all about the positive... ain't nothing wrong with that. but i've got a hater side in me and life ain't always apple pie, butterflies, and rainbows.

that being typed, figured i'd ask the question.... what kind of photos could you go without ever seeing again?

for me? baby pics. easy.

your turn...
October 17th, 2011
@grecican You always make me laugh!!!!
October 17th, 2011
This won't be popular, but got very bored of seeing "socks the cat" everywhere
October 17th, 2011
@moirab hehehe... and... what do you hate??

@jasehoad Jase... blasphemy!
October 17th, 2011
@jasehoad Socks the cat ROCKS!!!!
October 17th, 2011
@grecican ahh get over it ;)
October 17th, 2011
@jasehoad ahahahahahah fair enough. you have right to hate whatever you want, boo!

*kicks socks*

i mean...

*kicks rocks*
October 18th, 2011
HDR, fake HDR, selective coloring, maternity poses... most of my hates are related to editing.
October 18th, 2011
@hmgphotos maternity poses... hated it!
October 18th, 2011
@hmgphotos Why do you hate HDR?
October 18th, 2011
@grecican Most of them are just yucky!

@kerristephens It's rarely tastefully done
October 18th, 2011
Clowns! But that's probably just down to my fear and weird phobia of them! ;)
October 18th, 2011
@shellbelle OMFG i haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate clown pics!!!!
October 18th, 2011
@hmgphotos Point taken.
October 18th, 2011
@grecican - oh yes! My fellow clown-hater! they are just plain wrong!!
October 18th, 2011
@shellbelle we should kill them all with fire
October 18th, 2011
@grecican - lol!! I'm up for that!
October 18th, 2011
Mine.

Also - children/babies, needles, eyes.
October 18th, 2011
@manek43509 children and babies... i second that.

needles and eyes... now those are interesting hates.
October 18th, 2011
@grecican I love animal shots but I don't like seeing shots of animals in zoos
October 18th, 2011
@moirab agreed!
October 18th, 2011
@grecican
I have a strong dislike of needles anyway, so I'm not very keen on pictures of them either. And I just don't see the fascination in eye pictures - they just look weird.
October 18th, 2011
Macro bug shots :D it looks like they are "big" and that somehow scares me ...
October 18th, 2011
I find nearly all photos interesting and don't think there are any I truly hate... just call me Pollyanna :)
October 18th, 2011
@manek43509 I really hate needles too. They frighten me.
October 18th, 2011
@grecican i dont hate them but i get very bored with flowers, children and animals - sorry this isnt making me very popular!
October 18th, 2011
Maternity photos. I think they're cheesy.
October 18th, 2011
@mortisa no way, Jane... you have right to hate anything you want. i think it's awesome. if we all loved the same type of photos, how very boring this site would be
October 18th, 2011
I absolutely HATE eye pics too! I really can't look at them so close up. And macro shots of bees/wasps. While I appreciate the skill of the photographer etc etc, I have to look away quickly!
October 18th, 2011
i'm not fond of maternity because they're ususally fracking horrible...but I have seen some good ones on here over the last year. i hate over-edited "portraits" that are supposed to be "real" or "good." It's one thing to edit for your audience a la @nikkers, but it's another thing entirely to try to fix a shitty portrait you took with picnik.
October 18th, 2011
@sdpace ooooooooooooh snap.. shit just got real! ;-)

October 18th, 2011
@grecican As long as you are around Tina I doubt this site will get boring ;)
October 18th, 2011
@jasehoad oh stop... *blush*

October 18th, 2011
Food Photos. Trust me, almost no one on here is really good at the lighting, combination of subject, interest and color. To me they all look a bit bland and not appetizing.
October 18th, 2011
@brumbe oh man... good one. i am so guilty of taking mass amounts of food pics. mostly when i travel somewhere new. it's just too easy. perhaps i spend too much time eating, though...

October 18th, 2011
@grecican I guess I should have stated prepared food. I take photos when traveling of grocery store items, display cases and dishes that I eat to either remember or album, but I do not make anyone really look at them.
October 18th, 2011
easy one for me ...... flower shot , find them boring unless they have a bug or water drops on them . Just me though , love how different everyone is .
October 18th, 2011
@liipgloss Brenda, totally... ain't it amazing? we're something like 98% alike in regards to DNA. but god damn if we all don't hate on some different shit!
October 18th, 2011
pictures of bugs and spiders!! i hate seeing them up close and personal!
but it's definitely because i'm scared of them anyways :)
October 18th, 2011
I got pretty bored of my own HDR's rather quickly, but when it's done well, I can dig a good HDR shot. I'm a little tired of water crown shots, to be honest. I can't really come up with anything new to say when I see one. I tried one, not a great one, but was like - okay, done that now. Moving on. I could look at people's selfies forever though - I find it fascinating the million different ways people choose to represent themselves photographically.
October 18th, 2011
@pwallis totally feel you bout the selfies... can't get enough of them, either!
October 18th, 2011
@sdpace . lol Thank you ma'am

now I might go and do a boring old shitty portrait just to annoy you... hehehehehe
October 18th, 2011
I am not a big fan of spiders...only because they make me want to pee my pants, but that is pretty much it...i love learning about people through their photos and how they choose to show them.
October 18th, 2011
oh you would hate my album then, I can understand how baby pics would be boring though, if I weren't in full baby mode right now.
I don't think I hate any one type of picture.
October 18th, 2011
fizzy fruit, water splashes, icky bugs, and a few others, but I agree with @4stories I do like learning about the people here, even if they post those things I don't like @jasehoad I agree with you, I love cats but one subject gets kinda boring, even if I get a laugh
October 18th, 2011
@grecican I hate all my photos...:)
October 18th, 2011
I love almost all photos except for disturbing art photos ya know with distorted body parts eeeeeck!
October 18th, 2011
@potsbypam uh-oh, don't look at my zombie shot of my daughter today then, lol - you won't like it:)
October 18th, 2011
I am really tired of seeing the heart made with two hands...OMG, there must be hundreds of them and after I saw one I was done, And pencil crayon hearts as well. I just don't get it when people go gaga over them.
October 18th, 2011
Oh yes...and when people take tiny babies and put them in really awkward poses while the poor things are sleeping...I hope that this is a fad that fades soon.
October 18th, 2011
Poorly processed HDR irks me. 95% of maternity shots bother me. Anything involving body modification/mutilation really does me in.

Oh! Along the same lines of @5unflow3r 's heart hands - Girls posing with the stupid fish lips kissy face! We get it! You think you are hot. Now go post your fish lips on MySpace where I don't have to see them!

@grecican - Great thread! "ooooooooooooh snap.. shit just got real! ;-)" had me fully laughing out loud!
October 18th, 2011

@moirab I too hate HDR photos! Actually, I'm sure I love them when I can't tell that they are HDR, but as soon as they get that HDR look - ick! But then again, I used to like them - I even took some.

Same with selective colouring - I have taken heaps of these, but for some reason I'm really not a fan lately.

@hmgphotos Not a fan of animals in zoos either. It's cruel!

October 18th, 2011
I LOVE portraits though - self portraits, styled portraits, street photography and photojournalism. I just wish I had the confidence to do more of it!
October 18th, 2011
@pwallis I'm glad someone else did a zombie shot of her kid! I haven't found a lot of photos that I hate. I really get irritated with political statements in photos, but I don't follow anyone who makes a habit out of that type of stuff.
October 18th, 2011
@sherriwear you're the one who got me thinking about doing the zombie baby shot - I just couldn't remember who's it was I'd seen so I wasn't sure who to give the credit to:)
October 18th, 2011
@pwallis So glad I could make a freak out of someone else! LOL!!
October 18th, 2011
@5unflow3r @autumnseden I also strongly dislike the standard shot from above with iPhone peace sign pose. I bet if you did a search on fb, you'd find about a million of that shot for profile pics. Everyone thinks they look so much hotter from above for some reason.
October 18th, 2011
@pwallis Maybe because their faces look thinner. LOL
October 18th, 2011
@5unflow3r does that work? Must try, lol
October 18th, 2011
@pwallis Yes! it does....but it can also look really odd. :-) Example...I have a small chin and I think it almost disappears or looks really pointy if I do tht pose.
October 18th, 2011
@5unflow3r ahhh, I have the same problem. Those darned adorable elven chins, lol
October 18th, 2011
I have a strong dislike for anything with words as part of the image. I don't mean a watermark, but when someone has put an "uplifting" or "spiritual" quote on their photo to make a mundane picture look vaguely interesting.
October 18th, 2011
When we were preparing for our wedding 100 years ago our photographers asked us to put together a love/hate folder for them so they could capture the shots we wanted and avoid the ones we didn't like. There were only a few in the hate folder but No.1 was a black and white picture of a bride and groom and the groom was feeding the bride a huge strawberry....which was bright red...I've struggled with selective colouring ever since, that's not to say I hate them all, but I reaaaaallllly struggle...
October 18th, 2011
oh and hate pictures of me
October 18th, 2011
Full moon perfectly centered in frame with nothing else. These make the Pop Page without fail, but... Yaaaawn!
October 18th, 2011
Most of mine, spiders, over edited ones, naked shots.
October 18th, 2011
i agree with @cally - although, warning: i have some serious hate on for this type of photo, read on with caution. i saw the title of this discussion on the main page and actually groaned aloud at the thought of someone adding an inspirational quote to a cheesy photo. number one, a child twirling, woman looking pensive, or a lake at dusk - they are all overdone and unoriginal. number two, inspirational quotes are neither inspirational to the vast majority of people, nor do they "fix" your poopy pic. if you can't convey inspiration with the image, no quote will make you the image better. third, if you have taken a beautiful shot, why the heck are you ruining it by adding a quote!?
now, to all those who 'fav' these images, and i know you are out there because inevitably there is one quoted shot a day on the popular page - why??! the photographer is not gandhi or helen keller and certainly didn't pen "keep calm and carry on" him or herself. stop giving them credit for it.
i fully expect to be un-followed as a result of this rant. but i really needed to get that off my chest. :-p
October 18th, 2011
I agree with @5unflow3r and with @autumnseden about the hdr shots. I also hate poorly done selective coloring and especially hate the standing in front of the bathroom mirror shot or the self-portrait where they are looking up into the camera.....
October 18th, 2011
I dislike a lot of shots but considering there are really only a few original ideas around if I don't like someones shot I just don't comment!
I do however agree with the quotes on photo thing, don't understand why you'd want to write on a perfectly good photo??!!??
Also though they can look fantastic, I don't really like hugely edited shots where stuff has been added, maybe it's jealousy as there is no way I can do anything like that but to me photography is taking a shot & yes editing it to make it how you like it but adding other images etc to it afterwards puts it into another category entirely....or maybe that's just me!?!
October 18th, 2011
Hmm...mine are, in no particular order:

Selective coloring

98% of maternity photos

Cheesy Anne Geddes style baby pictures - stop shoving your babies into boots, people. They are going to grow up and hate you for it.

Any type of portraiture that's very posed and not natural - I'm all about the candid shots.

Anything that is heavily and badly edited - big vignettes, borders, etc. There are some things that Photoshop just can't fix.

Unlike a lot of folks, though, I LOVE pictures of eyes. I have a wall with several photos of eyes that I've taken on it, and I plan to add more. :)
October 18th, 2011
Me. I hate photography. It freezes a moment that is meant to be fluid. It pretends to be honest, but it is a lie. It purports to be real, but is fake. It is the b@$7@rd stepchild of real art.
October 18th, 2011
For me, quotes on photos, cheesy posed baby shots and most HDR.
October 18th, 2011
i dont hate photos of any kind, ..... but... i hate photos with

L A R G E
W A T E R M A R K S !

specially that draws my attention .

therefore i hate my photo too! (haha)
October 18th, 2011
Things that have been done ad nauseum (e.g. water droplets, book pages curved into a heart shape), and bad editing (e.g. scratchy oversharpening of the bad kind, over-the-top HDR).
October 18th, 2011
But there's nothing I hate in terms of grossing me out, making me want to look away immediately, etc. I love (well-taken) macro insect shots. :D
October 18th, 2011
Maternity/baby shots disgust me. Everything else is clichéd and mildly infuriating. Yeah photography!
October 18th, 2011
Also, photos of pretty things, without any attempt to do something WITH it. Like, letting the photo rest on the laurels of the fact that the subject is aesthetically pleasing, without any photographic skill. Does that make sense?
October 18th, 2011
I hate the overly staged baby pics. They are not cute or funny, often they are creepy though ... I mean, a suitcase deep in the woods and a sleeping baby in it ?
October 18th, 2011
@lauracaseyfoss you won't lose a follower for that, but you may gain one! When I get access to my laptop back... if people want to do the quote, then put it under the photo!
October 18th, 2011
@lilbudhha I'm sorry maybe I'm missing something but if you hate photography what are you doing here????? @eyebrows same kinda goes for you??

I can understand people hating certain types of photography & I do too but to just state you hate photography then to keep taking shots & posting them seems bizarre unless you're trying to be funny or "cool"?!?
October 18th, 2011
@sjodell I guess irony doesn't come across well in textual form. I do genuinely loathe maternity shots, but the second statement was in jest :)
October 18th, 2011
(Although, naturally, the more photographs you see, the greater proportion of future ones you see are perceived as clichéd, but that's just par for the course)
October 18th, 2011
@jasehoad I know, brah. I hate that stupid cat, too!

@moirab Thanks ;)

Hates: Tasteless HDR processing. There's a right way, and a wrong way, folks.
October 18th, 2011
@shellbelle: I really hate clowns, too! They creep me out. And masks, and dolls!
October 18th, 2011
I think hate is such a strong word to use when it comes to art.

There are no particular subjects I dislike... just the over post processing. I don't like photos excessively edited or post processed (especially portraits!). Rarely than nothing, there are overly done photos on here though that are nicely made.
October 18th, 2011
@pocketmouse Yes, you definitely make sense! :-) And I so agree with you. I thought flowers are so easy to photograph but not really after I've taken so many photos of them. I've just got to make art via those petals and light available. And that is not really an easy, quick thing to do. I think this is the reason why I have stopped shooting flowers for a while. My flower shots just become mere flowers lately. :-)
October 18th, 2011
I hate it when I'm not 100% happy with the end result... and like jaydee says (@gavincci) big over the top watermarks
October 18th, 2011
Rob
I prefer photos to be as natural as possible without the use of Photoshop etc. I understand photography is an art form, but I believe there should be sub-divisions within photography.
October 18th, 2011
@eyebrows don't worry the irony was understandable, even in print. I got it and my sense of humor is horribly inconsistent.
October 18th, 2011
I really don't like the really fake HDR look people go for. And some baby photos with the child manipulated so they look like they're tied in a knot are just creepy. Poor kid.
October 18th, 2011
blurry and ordinary.

TAKING PICTURES OF IPODS IS NOT PHOTOGRAPHY.
October 18th, 2011
selective colouring, always make me think about cheap posters of London or NYC you can buy! most of the picture would be so much prettier and chic in b&w
October 18th, 2011
Watermarks are dire. Black and White photography is for people who can't deal with reality. Text in a photograph is a major fail. Photoshop fucked photography. Art has something to do with paint, ink, charcoal, crayons, pencil, oil, acrylics, pastels and the ability to generate an electrical impulse from brain to hand.

But i love the 365, pretty funky place to post some snap shots.
October 18th, 2011
Ok I will agree with the majority and say HDR. Fake and real. For the most part, I dislike it. But the main one for me would have to be badly photoshopped pics. Those drive me crazy.

An ex-friend of mine had some cheap and bad maternity shots done and the "photographer" thought it would be cool to photoshop the ultrasound photo(where you could actually see the baby's face clearly- so creepy) over her belly. ICCCKKK! It freaked me out.
October 18th, 2011
i am in love with this thread... it is your hate that uplifts me, everyone!

and as mentioned earlier before by another poster, i have to agree... i hate anything with an overtly spiritual message, words on the picture and ANYTHING politico/religious. good for you for feeling the way you do bout your shit but your shit is your shit and keep it to yourself. almost as bad as having to read people's bumper stickers on their cars. who gives a fuck?

October 18th, 2011
1. Over-processed HDR picts
2. Framed pictures with vignettes
October 18th, 2011
@cally OMG words on pictures are THE WORST! I know someone (not on 365) who does it all the time. Like, what is this an advertisement? Put your caption in the caption block, not all over the picture. If it needs to be explained in big pink text you didn't capture the picture very well! ok vent over!

I also dislike maternity. I've vowed to never do them, it's almost impossible to make them original. I've seen really good ones, and the photographer deserves major props for them because it's not easy!
October 18th, 2011
I guess I'm realizing I'm not a big fan of squirrel pictures....lol, though sometimes when I'm feeling a pop page withdrawal I'm tempted to go out and take a few shots of some little squirrelies.
October 18th, 2011
@carajill Exactly! I don't care about all the cliches you can trot out that are pretty. What I want is a picture, what special things a person did to get that picture, and maybe a brief about their day or something important that happened. Only then do I even glance at a quote (if at all). Not good. I don't even open photos with wording across it. Big bugbear for me.
October 18th, 2011
Babies, kids,clowns and heart shapes get on my goat.
October 18th, 2011
@johnnyfrs yes to all of yours!
October 18th, 2011
@janmaki You response really made me laugh! Well said! Yes, babies laying in suitcases in the middle of the woods is very creepy.
October 18th, 2011
over processed photos are my bug as they looks so fake. endless kid shots, maternity, erm socks the kitten lol :o)
October 18th, 2011
i personally am tired of seeing the moon here. specially in the popular page. once a month the moon is full and once a month it's in the popular page. it looks the same. get over it
October 18th, 2011
wow, a lot of haters on here! some of which i agree too as well.... :)
October 18th, 2011
I am soooo loving this discussion! :-D
October 18th, 2011
@sjodell Not tying to be funny or cool. Though he was refering to his own, @eyebrows 3rd post gets part of the message.
October 18th, 2011
Ha! Same here! I can't stand baby pictures. :P I mean a few of them in the gallery are okay, I suppose mothers get very focused on them. But an entire gallery, only dedicated to babies? Please! :P

Oh, and pictures of random things, coloured like a rainbow. There's definately too much of that on here...
October 18th, 2011
I just hate everything. It's so much easier that way...
October 18th, 2011
anything featuring spiders! beyond that, those portraits where the eyes are really overedited and creepy colours. it doesnt look good, i dont think :S
October 18th, 2011
@kloud lmfao Bonnie... i heard dat, girl!
October 18th, 2011
i agree with @kloud :)

but mainly, i am not a fan of over the top edited pictures, or pictures with words (some i don't mind, but the majority, eh...no thanks), and selective coloring...which can be cool in some cases, but, i think it's a little over done, and i'm so super glad my wedding photog didn't use it...
October 18th, 2011
What do people (other than the actual parents) see as the attraction with babies or any other human that wears a nappy? They all look like Roy Kinear to me...well the more attractive ones anyway...
October 18th, 2011
Crap. Now I must find a contortionist baby holding a cat with a spider crawling on it for today's picture. Then I have to do it in HDR and somehow also selective color the shot. Must not forget the quote on the pic either. This could take all day.
October 18th, 2011
Cant stand Micro shots of eyes, I dont mind like the photo i took beacuse it isent zoomed up, But when you can see all the vains BLEUGH!
October 18th, 2011
@karens68 BEST RESPONSE EVER!!!!!

Should I just complete the list by saying that someone, somewhere also hates daily photos of ones life, night photography, day photography, landscapes, bugs, macro, nonmacro, babies, stuff, babies and stuff, kids, all people, photos with no people, animals, animals in zoos, animals out of zoos, phone shots, candids, portraits, weddings, rings, hearts, books, selfies, trees, all nature.

HAS ANYTHING BEEN LEFT OUT? :-)
October 18th, 2011
@cfitzgerald Ummm...sunshine, rainbows and nudies! Otherwise it looks like you got it all. ;)
October 18th, 2011
HDR!!!
October 18th, 2011
Almost all selective coloring... very, very rarely is it well-done, or does it seem to serve a purpose.

Also, gah, I pretty much detest over-processed pictures. Some processing, sure. Overprocessing once in a while works with a photo, but not often. I'm guilty of it sometimes, too, so yep.

OMG! And sky shots that have power lines running through them, or that have the top of someone's truck in the bottom of it, or things like that....
October 18th, 2011
LOL A lot of kid hate.... the majority of you better not look at my project then. ;)

As for hate I don't really have any, well I can't think of any that I have at the moment.
October 18th, 2011
@karens68 Don't forget to make the eyes stand out in a creepy way...maybe like those cat and dog pix that are on greeting cards. :-D ( Since some mentioned close ups of eyes is weird).
October 18th, 2011
@jessicaelaine I kind of like power lines, if they work in the composition. I mean if it's just the sky, well that's kind of silly. The sky is big enough so that you can find a spot without the lines. So I guess I more or less agree with you. ;-D

October 18th, 2011
so much hate =(
October 18th, 2011
@yoshi Don't be sad...we're just venting. We're still all mostly nice.
October 18th, 2011
On this site I hate photography that was obviously done by trained professionals with no other job and big expensive equipment. Then post their "best of" as if they were taking shots every day. Exif info. weirdly gone. They have thousands of followers but only follow 14 people and have 0 favorites. They would also really love this discussion thread and have it bookmarked as their home page...and say things like "yeah I hate HDR cat babies!".
October 18th, 2011
Want to add that I LOVE newborn photos because I love newborns - but the Anne Geddes copies aren't necessary. Newborn face closeups are special enough!
Hate dog and cat , frog bug pics!
October 18th, 2011
@yoshi what do you hate??
October 18th, 2011
@scottmel this made me laugh! Clearly i've not been lurking around too much, i've never seen these people!
October 18th, 2011
@5unflow3r As part of the composition, sure! :D But if you're photographing clouds, and there's a powerline through the middle of one, at least photoshop it out....
October 18th, 2011
@svestdonley I so agree that Anne Geddes reproductions are pretty darn unnecessary. Babies are cute enough without the distraction! (Well, most of them....)
October 18th, 2011
have jumping shots. especially at weddings. oh.... this is disgusting but i can't get it out of my mind... pro-life photography. There was a large display at UofM. The photos were 6 feet tall. Who takes these photos? Is this someone's job?
October 18th, 2011
hate not have
October 18th, 2011
@scottmel Are you going to stop posting pics of Baby Cheeky-Poo? You better not!
October 18th, 2011
Wouldn't it be nice if this "discussion" was made required reading on the 'join 365' page?
1) snapshots of kids
2) snapshots of little four legged things (squirrels, cats, most dogs, etc.
3) snapshots of other peoples artwork (graf, sculpture, whatever)
4) overdone, abused HDR
5) using text & framing to make an image look like a greeting card
6) most birds
7) images edited 'without a clue' and then casting it upon us.
8) What I hate most... There should be a mandatory "Truth in Comment Law" with all adjectives defined. What do you mean by 'beautiful, nice, awesome, great, swell" relative to the image before you?
9) I give up... no one is going to read this anyway, but a wonderful release, thanks for the opportunity.
October 18th, 2011
@hown lmfao... nobody would sign up! haahahahaha
October 18th, 2011
@scottmel YES!
October 18th, 2011
@scottmel Ooooh I've seen a few of those on here - the professional photogs who only follow people to be followed in return, never comment or view anyone else's photos and post amazing professional quality photos every single day and just sit there and bask in the praise raining down upon them. Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate a pro's work, but isn't it an ego boost enough for you that you get PAID for your work? At least take part in the community if you're going to showcase your work here in the hopes of drumming up more business.
Did that sound ranty? Who cares.
October 18th, 2011
@janmaki I see nothing wrong with leaving a sleeping baby in a suitcase in the woods. We do it to Pickle all the time. She loves it. But then, she also eats pugs.
October 18th, 2011
Oh dear God, this is an AWESOME thread!

@scottmel "HDR cat babies!" 'Bout sums it up!
October 18th, 2011
@pwallis Paula, i think i love you.
October 18th, 2011
@hown your list made me laugh but I'm guessing no one would really sign up since most of us a guilty of at least one item on the list...
in fact i'm guilty of four of them lol, but i did read it ;D
October 18th, 2011
@grecican you KNOW you love me. lol - I love you too:)
October 18th, 2011
@pwallis @grecican awww, lovely ladies loving each other :) wouldn't hate that kind of pics ;-D
October 18th, 2011
Macros of bugs-if not hate, then extreme dislike.
October 18th, 2011
I dislike editing. All around. People should go back to taking shots
unedited.

I can edit. But I have more fun TRYING for a shot unedited. :)
October 18th, 2011
I'm with @marilyn; I don't think I dislike any of them. I'm here to learn to take better pictures through experience, whether it be macro, portrait, bugs, flowers, birds, trees, the sky, whatever. The only way to get better at photography is to DO it; and that's what I'm doing. You'll find most of all your guys' "hates" in my album. =-)
What I DO dislike is the same as someone else mentioned: when those who really know what they are doing don't bother with us little people, even if I comment on their pics. It would be nice for those who know what they are doing to give me some advice on how to do mine better instead of merely, as was said, basking in the glory of their followers.
October 18th, 2011
@hown Love your list! This site will definitely be shutdown if that's the case since we all are guilty. 7 and 8 rock! LOL
October 18th, 2011
This just goes to show that you can’t please everyone, so shoot what you want and post what you like. I’m off to find a quote to Photoshop over my baby pictures.
October 18th, 2011
Phew!!! Luckily Lego Men have escaped this list so far :)
October 18th, 2011
@aikiuser Gotta love your comment, Jenn! Was that subtle or what :)
October 18th, 2011
@1invisiblegrl Yeah, that's what I was going to add: I take pics of what I think at that moment is appealing to ME. I am afraid of bees and don't particularly care for spiders. I ABHOR praying mantises (mantis'??), yet I photograph them anyway for the experience.
To be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing as far as editing goes; but again, I just do what looks good to me at that moment. Critiques on all my pics welcome! =-)
October 18th, 2011
@1invisiblegrl I'll have to follow you to see it :oD
October 18th, 2011
@karens68 Looking forward to seeing yours too!!
October 18th, 2011
There are a lot of photos I don't look at because I've seen their kind a hundred times. But if I'm honest, most of them are probably better than my i-just-had-to-take-a-photo-today-and-i-dont-have-time-for-much-effort photos, i.e. most of my project.

If I want to look at consistently creative and high-quality photos of interesting subjects, I go to Flickr - my other daily photo-viewing habit. I'm on 365 Project for the community - it's so, so rare to find a supportive community online. I find that balancing the two sites keeps my hating in check.

That said - really not a fan of over-editing. I prefer to try for sooc photos myself. Still, most of my attempts could use some help :oP
October 18th, 2011
@Karen68 and cfitzgerald has it all covered. Both comments are great. I'm on their team. :-)
October 18th, 2011
I like that all photos aren't the same, and seeing a bunch of different shots, no matter what they are, seem to inspire me in some way. :) One thing I don't like are bugs. That's about it.
October 18th, 2011
@tabatsoy I agree with you. They are great shots, but they're all over. If you've seen one close up moon, I think you've seen them all!
October 19th, 2011
I dont like Black and White shots... ;)
October 19th, 2011
@cfitzgerald I think you forgot reflection shots. Someone somewhere hates reflection shots.
October 19th, 2011
Hahaha. This thread has made me laugh out loud several times (and cringe a few more, as I saw "me" described :-o ).

I don't like...and I don't know how to describe this, but those fantasy like dreamy photos that are heavily photoshopped to make someone look like they are floating among the clouds over a beautiful forest. Or something like that. I know these are artistic, and I do admire the photoshop/editing skills, but really? Not my cup of tea. The first time or two I saw some like that, I liked. Then it got old.
I'll just stick to my horrible HDR. :) :) :)

October 19th, 2011
@cally hahaha consider yourself followed right back!
October 19th, 2011
@pwallis
But at least Pickle feels remorse and cries before eating said pug.
October 19th, 2011
Can I just say that I am REALLY tempted to do "photography they hate" series on here now? lol
October 19th, 2011
@mej2011 Ha! That'd be funny.
Though, some people (myself included) probably already have that without even trying. :D
October 19th, 2011
@jjsooner
I am guilty of the selective coloring. I LOVE IT! It is by far, my favorite type of edit. Aside from that, I don't consciously recall having the rest. It would be kind of fun to seek them out, although I don't know where I'd find babies or pregnant women that would let me take their picture.
October 19th, 2011
@mej2011 oh you should totally do a "Top 20 most hated types of photography theme" now! I kind of want to too:)
October 19th, 2011
I'm a Pollyanna 365er. I use this project as a positive vibe in my life. There really aren't any photos that I do not like, but I tend to steer clear of the "deep, sad, depressing, negative emotions" type photos because I get enough of that stuff at work. This is my "fun, optimistic, happy" me time!
October 19th, 2011
I sound like a complete positive polly....so here's my hater post. ugggg

I hate giant watermarks on photos (the ones that are distracting).
October 19th, 2011
Hearts. I don't see why we have to draw them in the sand, or with magic markers, or build them out of legos. A couple self portraits are fine, but I unfollowed someone who did self portraits more than half the time.
October 19th, 2011
CK
Aha, now I get it. So my photo is selectively coloured kids - Hee, Hee. Now I see my taste is up my butt! Thanks for the wake up hate thread!! I dread to think my album covers most of that listed above, sigh!
So what irks me - not a lot really, but I am not a big fan of large watermarks and text smeared across photos.
Off to take more photos of the kids until I can afford a macro, then bug city here I come!!
October 19th, 2011
@karens68 Bahahaha!!! Make sure to add the full moon, maybe framed within the baby's heart shaped fingers. >-)
October 19th, 2011
@grecican It sounds to me like you just plain don't like anything - photography or not. Why so negative?

One thing to remember about this site is that each project is unique to the individual and if someone wants to document something spiritual or sentimental about their photo, they should be allowed to do so without harsh criticism filled with profanity. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Photography is art and not everyone likes the same kind of art. Personally, I think it is time to end this negative thread.
October 19th, 2011
@dejongdd amen
October 19th, 2011
@grecican I actually don't hate anything hahaha
October 19th, 2011
@karens68 hahahahahahahahha
October 19th, 2011
Bugs & birds. Just so boring.
October 19th, 2011
@jasehoad I so agree. I'm sick of seeing socks too.
October 19th, 2011
What a great thread. too bad I am not really here but still have sentiments and browse from time to time. I had posted here some sweet boring pictures of sunrises and sunsets and flowers and such. I have learnt something about photography while doing it. I have experimented ( and still do) with all the hdr and other editing sins mentioned here. I do not like it most of the time ( mine and others) although they are all tools that can be used to create. I have learnt to use hdr to make pictures that are satisfactory for me. I dislike hdr pictures of mine that were quite popular here and like others that were almost unnoticed. I am happy to learn that not all 365 adore pictures of babies, squirrels and ..well ‪@cfitzgerald really covered it all. But it is not the subjects that makes a photo distasteful but the how it is made. That is what I aim to learn now, to make a meaningful and good photos
October 19th, 2011
hahaha - many laughs out of this thread!
Sorry if it's already been mentioned before, but I'm sick of seeing the wedding ring on an open book making a heart shape in its shadow. Not sure if I've explained it properly but if you google it I'm sure it will pop up everywhere :)
October 19th, 2011
over worked, super imposed are my dislike ;-)
October 19th, 2011
@kaost ha ha Yes I'll second that!
October 19th, 2011
Most of mine
October 19th, 2011
new one on me just seen someones delivery of lab rats?!! - gross!
October 19th, 2011
@kaost - omg yeah that ring, so so boring or pages of a book folded to make a heart - cheese!
October 19th, 2011
@aikiuser LOL
October 19th, 2011
@jjsooner Totally agree!
October 19th, 2011
This is such a great thread!
I think I'm guilty of almost everything on this list, so hate it if you want to!!! ;-)

I'm fed up with all those pictures of sweet pets, I get it why you like them, but I don't.
And I love how diverse we all are on this site!
October 19th, 2011
@dejongdd hey man.. there's nothing wrong with hate and fucking profanity!
;-)
October 19th, 2011
I don't know if I could go without seeing certain photos EVER again, because from time to time, what would normally be an average subject--is sometimes produced so much better than you have ever seen. BUT, that being said, I see a lot of beautiful sunsets...yes..they are beautiful..I get it..and I've been guilty of it too. Also, pictures of ducks. I like ducks. Ducks are pretty funny little animals, but there are only so many photos of a duck that can be interesting. I'm sure there is more..but that's all I got for now. :)
October 19th, 2011
@grecican Hmmmm, seems to me you have a lot of growing up to do. Sad.
October 19th, 2011
@dejongdd jeez, Deb... now who's hating?

smooch, girl... have a lovely day. :D
October 19th, 2011
@grecican I never once said the word "hate". I just think it is sad that you haven't figured out that there is a time and a place for profanity and this is not one of them. Your comment back to me was immature (something I would expect from one of my middle school students).
October 19th, 2011
@dejongdd i said, good day!
October 19th, 2011
@grecican Technically you said "lovely day" - I'm just teasing you here - I hope to have a good day and wish the same for you. Truce?
October 19th, 2011
@dejongdd absolutely... ;-)

October 19th, 2011
@mej2011 : I just did a whole collage of the hated items - the temptation was just too big ;). And @pwallis has started a series. This thread is quite inspirational ;)!
October 19th, 2011
@jannaellen Indeed, it is. I have all sorts of new ideas for photos that should annoy people now:)
October 19th, 2011
@pwallis @jannaellen i can't wait to find a baby to snap... i'm hoping it's one that just fell down so it's wailing like a little bitch
October 19th, 2011
@grecican just take it into the woods and leave it in a suitcase.
October 19th, 2011
@pwallis : Hihi, can't wait to see them!
October 19th, 2011
@2thgirl
I couldn't agree more :)

October 19th, 2011
@pwallis seriously, Paula... you have the best sense of humor :D
October 19th, 2011
This is just hilarious. I agree that I can't stand the spiritual quote photos or the photos of kids for the most part (unless they are related to me). I also don't really get the shots from tiny world (I think that is what it is call) iPhone app.
October 19th, 2011
@jannaellen
Well if everyone else is doing it, it's really not fun anymore. lol.
October 19th, 2011
@mcdougall I agree on the spiritual quotes.
I can't say I hate pictures of kids...because that is basically all I take....my kids. But that was one of my goals for this project...to document them for a year...so I guess it depends on why you are doing this project and what your life it. My kids are pretty much my life these days! :)
I don't hate any particular subject...but I am not a fan of overprocessing of eyes on people so that they just look completely unnatural! (although I have done it myself here and there!)
October 19th, 2011
Does anyone hate goats?
October 19th, 2011
I think perhaps we should have a new Popular Page of the most hated photos (or would that be too close to the one we have now?)
October 19th, 2011
@grecican This is too funny - especially since I (and most) are guilty of like all these shots! Totally think we should all do like a week challenge of hated photos....
October 19th, 2011
@sbb1980 already started mine in my second album today:)
October 19th, 2011
Newborn babies folded into weird positions with hats on and strange facial expressions. New borns look like aliens wait a couple of months before you start photographing your babies!! The moon...I hate moon shots. Birds, I love some 365ers who photograph birds but I must admit I pass quickly over shots of birds. Frickin levitation shots! Babies in baskets, dogs with hats on, people who photograph the TV screen "Yep, watched the soccer today..." or even worse, who photograph computer monitors, game-console screens. People who photograph DVD covers, concert tickets or any other mundane product. things out-of-focus and blurred. 'Look-what I bought today' photos. I hate it all, really...even socks now (well the weird photoshopped versions of socks!) Sorry Gary!!
October 19th, 2011
oh yeah and spiritual quotes, and American flags!
October 19th, 2011
I hate when people take pictures of thier pets with stupid captions. I LOVE pet pictures, as soon as it says "Iz havin a bad day" or something corny, it goes downhill! LOL! I also hate food pictures, especially when they've eaten some of it. Nasty!
October 19th, 2011
wow this was a tread just asking for drama, even though i may not enjoy certian photos i dont judge people by them or crap talk them publicly, this site is NOT a professional site, sure there are professionals on here but this site was not intended to post a perfect photo every day for a year some people use the sight just to capture their year not at all intending to improve their photography.
If you dont enjoy someones photos ... dont follow them, its THAT simple!
I dont think the intention of the tread was horrible but I do think that a few of you who are naming people have gone over board.
October 19th, 2011
@brandywalker365 don't tread on me!

i think the majority of folks on here aren't made out of glass (at least, i hope not) so won't break, so to speak. if somebody doesn't like the subject of a photo, there ain't nothing wrong with speaking up about it. especially, on a thread asking what they don't like in regards to that very topic. the people who have a problem with hearing what people don't like or who can't take criticism perhaps should be the ones not on here in the first place.

that's just my thought on it... saving the drama for the tread on my tires... and Gary's cat, Socks...

oh nooooooooooo she didn't!

oh yeaaaaaaaaaas i did!
http://i.imgur.com/Ras7W.gif

in all seriousness, i actually very much agree with you on not following somebody's work you don't care for. it is that simple. :-)
October 19th, 2011
I would just like to clarify that I love Socks and will until the day I die.
October 19th, 2011
@pwallis i love that little fucker, too, Paula
October 19th, 2011
@grecican lol
October 19th, 2011
@grecican
i dont agree, this site was NOT made for any sort of criticism, unless the individual has asked for it i find it rude and childish to name them.
October 19th, 2011
@brandywalker365 fair enough... you're entitled to your opinion
October 19th, 2011
@grecican
When i signed up for this site i had no idea people would be publicly bashing each others photos, and I am pretty sure that is in no way the intention of the site so please think twice when you say that people who cannot take criticism should not be here because we all can agree that THAT is BS to say someone should only be here if they can handle someone criticizing them!
I was under the impression that 365 members were welcoming and supportive .. but you have proved me wrong.
October 19th, 2011
@brandywalker365 daaaaaaaaaaaaw... thanks
October 19th, 2011
Selective coloring......grrrr
October 19th, 2011
I appreciate the skill of all the photographers out there, but I do have one thing I dont hate just dislike, a repeat of one photo looking different from edits. I got it the first time around. Personally if ones wants to show many different outcomes of one photo put the darn thing in a collage and post it instead of posting the something just different for the next few days.
October 19th, 2011
@grecican I have followed you now based solely on:

hey man.. there's nothing wrong with hate and fucking profanity!

Also, I think I might love you. Muaaahhh.

October 19th, 2011
@beautifulthing lmao... thanks, i think ;)
October 20th, 2011
I wish I knew what HDR was!
October 20th, 2011
@cohare - I have to agree:) my project is all kids because that is what i intended...i am 100% guitly of the following(for @cfitzgerald's list): kids, babies, reflections, sunsets, hearts in all forms, cheesy pictures of little girls twilrling with inspirational quotes, dreamy photoshop stuff with clouds and fairytale themes...the only thing i have not done is a cat because i do not have one...all that being said, i am loving this site because i enjoy the freedom of expression- if i am not a big fan of someone's work, i do not follow:) @pwallis- i am a horrible commentor because i cannot get control of my four kids and their lives and i am also horribly guilty of loading up my shots and basking in the wonderful comments LOL :)))
October 20th, 2011
@4stories I am 100% with you. I feel guilty about the commenting, but I do it when i find time. If one of the most wonderful things about photography is "seeing" more and noticing the details of life...I am not sure how you could be a parent and not want to take pictures of the beautiful details you find right on your children. Maybe you have to be a parent to understand and appreciate the beauty in that? With that being said...I follow people not only for the subjects that they take...but their talent, creativity, and technique. And those of you that have expressed a hatred of kid shots...you will LOVE my picture today...a nice boring picture of my kid taken at 8:00 at night because I was busy all day with a full time job and taking care of 3 kids. Somedays you just don't have the opportunity to wonder around looking for a perfect and original shot. But, I think my followers will forgive me. or...they will unfollow. whichever is ok with me. :)
October 20th, 2011
This thread is wonderful.

I've actually done a few photos making fun of certain types of photos:

October 20th, 2011
@grecican I am biting my tongue as I read through this post.
October 20th, 2011
@moirab hdr is High Dynamic Range. Its where you take multiple pictures of the same thing each picture being a different exposure. You then blend all the shots together into one do a little tweaking in photoshop or whatever editing program you use that will allow hdr. The purpose of it is to better bring out the detail in the photos and when done right looks very well.
October 20th, 2011
October 20th, 2011
@karens68 This discussion was really getting to me. So much negativity just simply blew me away. If you don't like photos of babies, don't follow people who post them. If it irritates you that babies and moons make the pop page, don't visit the pop page. But when I saw your post, Karen, it really gave me a laugh. Maybe that could be a new challenge - to take photos of things people hate. Okay, I'm still laughing. Thank you, thank you! Yours was the most perfect comment I read here!!!
October 20th, 2011
@lauriehiggins Ha ha! I think whoever gets to pick the next theme should pick "the most annoying picture-theme".
October 20th, 2011
@grecican I can't wait until the new year brings in all the resolutioners...you are going to have a field day! You might be nice for a little bit, so you don't scare them off right away.....or not, you know this being a free country and all. I was technically in that boat timewise, however, I stumbled on the site through some other people, had no idea people actually made resolutions to take a photo a day. But I guess that is the basis of this site too.
October 20th, 2011
@karens68 Love it Karen...PLEASE GIVE IT A GO:):):):):):):)
October 20th, 2011
@soxfansara I frickin love that second photo! lol - awesome.
October 20th, 2011
Oh yea btw congrats on making it to the top of the hot topic list......I am seeing references to this discussion all over....you have def made your mark ( and no, don't go peeing on any tires....lol)
October 20th, 2011
@soxfansara : I love these shots, they really made me smile!
@shadesofgrey : Amazing how inspiring so much negativity can be, right ;)?
October 20th, 2011
I saw two sunsets, 3 leaf shots and a fucking cat on PP. FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU !!!
October 20th, 2011
@janmaki : Here's another cat for you ;):
October 20th, 2011
a new one to me - people who cannot be arsed to upload a photo the right way round - just rotate it , its simple!
October 20th, 2011
@shadesofgrey lmfao... this topic is crackin me the hell up, dude
October 20th, 2011
@soxfansara hilarious!!
October 20th, 2011
Amy
I don't think that I "hate" any type of picture... I'm a cockeyed optimist. I always find something interesting about them - lighting, editing, etc. I guess if I had to really dig, I don't care to look at the gratuitous nakey shot. It's not art, it's not tasteful - it's just boobies for the world to see... lol.
October 20th, 2011

I think we need to tag our hate shots...any suggestions?
October 20th, 2011
i don't hate any type of photos. there are some that i like more than others. and then i'll see the same photo a week later and think it's great or boring, being opposite from the first time i looked. i wasn't even going to read this thread until i saw @jannaellen post her photo responses to the thread. which were great. anyway, i'm kinda glad i came over and read because some of this stuff is pretty funny and i can always use a good laugh.
October 20th, 2011
@karens68 I've been tagging mine hatedphotos
October 20th, 2011
@pwallis Thanks! Done. :)
October 20th, 2011
Well, guilty as charged but I do this project to become a better photographer and isn't part of that taking pics people will hate? So, does that mean when you all love my photos I will have arrived? Lol.
October 20th, 2011
@pwallis : Will do, too.
@kynosmom : Nope, you will have arrived when you love your photos as well. And funnily enough most of the "hated items" mentioned here make it to the popular page regularly. Oh, and I'm guilty of most of these things as well. Most of us are.
October 20th, 2011
@jannaellen Ah, well then I have a ways to go ;)
October 20th, 2011
@jannaellen ditto... i'm certain i'm guilty of taking some kind of photo somebody hates somewhere. who gives a shit either way is my thought on it. everyone has an opinion. i like this thread since we've all come together to share our opinions in a place where it's welcomed. the good, the bad, the ugly and the weird.

October 20th, 2011
@grecican
oh the people who don't like this thread.....how do they get through life? Who can like everything? And who ever thought the internet was this cuddly warm support group where we've all signed a contract to be nice to each other? You're handling the hater-haters very well I must say.
October 20th, 2011
@chewyteeth it's because i don't give a shit what anybody thinks, Dave... also, the Internets is my playground and i'm on some pretty fierce websites where people say some extremely fucked up shit to each other. this ain't NOTHING...
October 20th, 2011
@chewyteeth and i agree with EVERYTHING you just typed. ;-)
October 20th, 2011
ha ha, what websites...photo websites? I've read some mad shiz in my time.
October 20th, 2011
@chewyteeth lol... NOT photo websites. quite the opposite. we just tear into each other. it's balls to the wall. i live for it... and totally not for pussies. not that you're a pussy... you're definitely not, actually. :)

and DEFINITELY not for PC folk... i ain't sharing on here. i'd give you my personal email to share the info but we don't have PM available on this site. grrrrrrrr
October 20th, 2011
@grecican that sounds curious, a website where you just abuse each other horribly? Well you can post things to me on my blog or my email address which is on the about section of my blog, but I don't know if I really want to see this place for non-pussy types.
http://manchestersartisticson.com
October 20th, 2011
@chewyteeth lmfao... no no... it's a website for uploading different types of things and videos and the such... but 9 times out of 10, we end up busting on each other. it's the best when somebody really gets their panties twisted in a knot (usually a newb or somebody with Assburgers). it's like, dude... this is the Internets... you can just click out whenever. i promise... it'll be okay. it's amazing. and i never argue on the Internets. it's like running in the Special Olympics. even if you win, you're still retarded.

(okay... i stole that last bit. but it's one of my fave quotes of all time.)
October 20th, 2011
I don't like those "here's a splendid backdrop and my animal in the forefront" type of pic... oh wait... I just did one today. Crap.
October 20th, 2011
@chewyteeth i can't find your email addy on your blog... halp!
October 20th, 2011
admin@manchestersartisticson.com
October 20th, 2011
oh my goodness. I work with disabled people so I can't officially laugh at that last bit. xx
October 20th, 2011
@chewyteeth kewlio... thanks
October 20th, 2011
@chewyteeth i wasn't talking about disabled folks. just the retards. ;-)

October 20th, 2011
@canon4life Thank you. Sounds complicated to me!
October 20th, 2011
Follow me! :)
October 20th, 2011
Im sure this has prob been said already, but I could definitely go w/o seeing another overblown HDR shot... SO overused and abused.
October 20th, 2011
I don't hate anyone's photos. I think everyone has a project of what they are interested in. Hate is too strong of a word for me. It says that you think there is no value in someones photos. I think this link has brought out a lot of hate from individuals that is not very impressive. If someone hates someones photo I think they should keep it to themselves. Just saying...
October 20th, 2011
@jannaellen No kidding... I think it helped some people vent though. And it inspired a few just to push some buttons and purposely take "those" shots. Although I think we would take them anyway, just because. Besides how vanilla would the world be if we all liked the same things, the PP sure wouldn't change much.
October 20th, 2011
@shadesofgrey totally agree

Threads are like photographs. If you don't like them, you don't have to look.
October 20th, 2011
@beautifulthing amenseses and EXACTLY my sentiment.
October 20th, 2011
@grecican I see threads all the time on here that I'm not a fan of. I stop reading them and go take more pictures. Problem solved, no? :)
October 20th, 2011

Photos that are so over processed get on my nerves. I know some people are genuinely amazing and I do envy them, but there is something about a photo still looking the way you initially saw it through the lense, what made you want to take a photo in the first place. If that jabbering makes any sense!!
October 20th, 2011
@beautifulthing Excellent point you make. I find this thread rather hilarious and it's actually inspired me to do some comically bad photos. Tina's right, things aren't always rainbows and puppies and cute babies - sometimes people like to have a little vent, in a fun and harmless manner. I have many of the "hated hit list" items in my project, but there's NO WAY I could possibly take any sort of personal offence to this thread. I just don't think I'm that important that someone in an entirely different country, who doesn't even know me, that mentions they're bored of seeing shots of.....say - cute babies - could possibly be talking about me. And if they are, who cares? I don't do this because I want everyone to love me, I do this for the love of doing it. I just really hope anyone who's feeling offended by this thread realizes there is no possible way it was aimed at themselves in particular.
Except maybe Socks, who was brought up by name, but I got Socks's back:)
October 20th, 2011
@pwallis i got Sock's back, too... and well put, Paula... :-)
October 20th, 2011
@pwallis well stated. I was wishing the hate-haters would stop taking the comments here in this thread so personally. If they like taking baby shots and someone doesn't like them, why do they care enough to get upset about it. Or better still, if you're sensitive to this type of banter, why even open a thread entitled "what photos do you hate" when there's dozens of comments, now hundreds, and the odds are that your favourite photo subject matter is going to be on someone's hit list. For the most part, this thread has given me lots of smiles.
October 20th, 2011
@sunnygreenwood Oh this thread has me laughing! I now know I have photos people hate!! LOL

@pwallis Very well said Paula!!
October 20th, 2011
@pwallis

Well you know, I REALLY hate pictures of puppies. :)
October 21st, 2011
Im so not a fan of photographers that use the one subject for the majority of their photos - more specifically multiple photos of children and pets over consecutive days! For example day 1 - picture of my child playing in the sand pit. day 2 - picture of my child playing on the swing. day 3 - picture of my child eating. That sort of thing. I think these photos should remain on facebook. Does anyone else agree or disagree.
October 21st, 2011
haha yeah haha socks is awesome :P lol i hate stupid like dump photos that don't really make any sense
October 21st, 2011
Yes, your kid pics - PLEEEEASE keep them on Facebook!! (with the exception of Kim Suzanne Kelly who does amazing baby shots), which is totally weird for me to say, because babies really are awful!
PS: Socks the cat rules the world!! Go socks, go! (and your sexy carer, too!)
October 21st, 2011
@beautifulthing but some threads (like this one!) are like car accidents - they're awful, but bizarrely fascinating and you just can't look away! LOL!
October 22nd, 2011
Jeez I arrived at this one waaaay too late and apparently long after the dust has settled. But, as a rule both here and anywhere else I see photos, I can't stand derivative, unoriginal or straight-out xerox'd images.

I luurrrve HDR and do a buttload of it myself and often manipulate images heavily to suit my own individual style and taste. If the audience doesn't like it stiff shit, Art isn't a popularity contest.

Good thread topic, overdue :) @grecican @pwallis

Bri
I'm guilty of so many of these, but I love this post.

Hipster photography is my least favorite. Waif-ish girls in a field, usually in sepia or with lens flare... Pictures of converse shoes... "Deep" songs lyrics on an unrelated picture ("I am broken without you like a bird with no air" + ferris wheel photo)...
October 24th, 2011
OMG, I think Freud would have had a ball with this discussion thread lol Great morning coffee read :) Look what you started Tina!
October 24th, 2011
@mimosa hahahhahaa! ;-)
January 17th, 2012
@bmovieshow i just saw read this... and am laughing aloud!

framed pics... not every picture needs a frame! in fact, most of the time, it's better off without one!
January 17th, 2012
@emmaroobers this! I can't stand the over worked photos - too much editing destroys a lot of photos.....to the point they look really really fake. Step away from PS, I repeat step away from PS...
February 17th, 2012
@grecican Quin please stop, your starting to stand out like a sour thumb, its making you look dumb, your here smiting other peoples work, take a break form this if you dont want to see peoples photos then go to flickr its a bigger site and has groups so you could have your own group just for you....
