Ok, I really do not want to ask but after becoming an ace member I am just curious. Do you guys find some photos are neglected, in the other albums? I do not use my "extra" albums much but when I do, it seems to suffer if I post other photos.
I know sometimes I forget to click on member's other albums, but I try to go back to look.
I wonder if someone has asked this before or am I being stupid. Just was curious.
By the way, all you guys are awesome!!! I love it here. :)
I do find that mine are ignored a bit more. I don't know why though. I don't often post in there though, so it doesn't matter too much :-) I love doing this project too!
I only use mine occasionally as well, just was curious. I know sometimes I miss other members' photos in "extra" albums and I try to go back. I love looking at everyone's work; it helps me!
I don't use my other albums for that reason too. (Well rarely, I should say). I found that staggering the uploads a few hours apart, rather than together, was better though.
I have a little trick I sometimes use if I really like all three photos...I send one up and leave it up for a while in the "top" or main folder. Then I move it to one of the other folders and upload another one to the top folder photo. then I do it again. Then all three are seen for a while. A little silly I know, but it seems to work for me. I also think it's good because you are uploading one photo, then waiting an hour or so to send up another photo. This way people's homepages aren't bombarded by three of your pix all at once. :-)
@scooter BTW I do make a point to look at all three folders of people who use all three a lot though..thought I should mention that. :-) You guys know who you are.
@5unflow3r Thank you! I just became an ace member just a bit ago, not sure how it works. I really do not want to bombard peoples pages. I posted 3 photos I liked tonight but did it all at once. I thank you for your help and your insight, I will try that.
I know I try to look at all the albums when I know they are an ace member. It just seemed as though my numbers dropped off when I had more than one album but then again, the photos I posted may have been very yucky!!! LOL :D
I am quite ambivalent about the extra album(s). I have been putting some pics in my second one but I can see how they would get neglected/overlooked. There is so much to look at and comment on already and who has the time, right? I usually just end up putting my extras on Facebook where I can arrange them nicely in albums that tell a story or simply form a pleasant grouping. My "friends" get to enjoy them and I am not competing for attention with thousands of people.
@meisen325 I know I am pressed for time but do not use facebook often. I do post my photos there sometimes. I was just curious if the other albums did not get noticed as much. I know I always try to look at everyone's but yes, time is a factor unfortunately. Just was curious what others were experiencing. Hope everyone has a great night and BOO!!
I find the other folders get some attention until they move down the line on the news feed....then not so much. I have the bad habit of putting some really good stuff in there and regretting it because I actually like it better than the one in my main album!
Trina...do you know if you can switch your photos around in your albums and still keep all the comments? @5unflow3r
@shutterbugger Jenn, I have done the same thing. There are a couple shots I like better in the extra albums than my original 365 album. Good question for @5unflow3r, maybe she can help? I did not mean to be mean or question people, I was just curious since I became an ace member, harder for me to choose what photos to share.
For a while, I'd put a link to my other shots for the day. I know that others do that and I don't always look...but most of the time I do. I just had a lovely lady flip through and comment on all my shots for the week and she's missed some good ones from the other day. That's my own fault....no links!@scooter

If you open up edit and just change the photo location in the drop down box, all comments move with the photo. I do it all of the time and haven;t lost any comments. :-)
Sometimes, if I do the three picture thingie and one seems more popular, I leave put it in the main folder. Usually I have a plan of where they'll end up when I start uploading though. I do the link thing sometimes too, but lately I only use if if the photos are related somehow, like my fall series where I keep on shooting from the same place to see how the scenery changes with the season.
As for posting on FB too, people from 365 will comment there when I'd rather they comment here...sigh. :-)
@scooter@shutterbugger Oh, and using those drop down boxes in edit, you can even change the day you posted on--say you decided to move a new photo to an empty slot from last week--you can do that and the comments will stay.
I have become an ace member a few weeks ago and have really enjoyed sharing more photos. I find they don't get as many views but I think it's because I link my main photo to facebook but not my other ones. I have been getting comments on all three albums from the people who regularly comment on my photos (thank you so much if you're reading this, you know who you are xox). I am just finding it harder to choose the photos and which album to put them in now! I've been linking the other photos to my main one only, and posting them together.

I use my extra album for "alternate" photos or for photos that "go together" in a series kind of way. That said, I'm probably the only one that looks at them save for a few people. Lately, it seems people are just pressed for time and too busy.
I notice the same think scooter and it looks like other people do, too. I also agree that people seem to be so busy right now that they might not have time to look at all the albums. I don't put pictures in my second album every day partially because of this.

yeah, thanks for bringing this up, do you think it would be a good idea to display thumbnails of your other album photos (if you have one for that day) on the page for your main album?
Ross I think that would be a great idea if it's not too much work..I do realize that these extra albums don't get as much visits as they deserve but I'm a culprit too and forget to click on album 2 or 3.
When I am looking at the whole month I don't know which album I'm currrently looking at. Would you mind also including the name of the album at the top of the screen?
@Scrivna Thanks Ross!! I think that it is a great idea, if it is not too much work to do. I have thought of putting links on my main photo, if I do add a photo in an extra album but have not. Like others, I am pressed for time lately.

@Scrivna I would be very grateful if you could manage that!! (i've been experiencing the same "issue".. and do not always want to add a link to the other albums in my description if the pics don't relate to each other)
