Thank you guys so much for voting for my white space photograph!!
Ok, so just to start, here's the photographic rules we've broken so far:
Rule of Thirds
Focus
Exposure
On-Camera Flash
Lens Flare
White Space
And now I say we break all the COLOR rules out there. Spoken and unspoken.
As a partner in a wedding photography biz, it is understandable that my colors be true and real. They should have a pop of contrast, boldness and color that jumps off the page without seeming fake. I mean, if the bride has bright pink for her color...make it bright pink in the pic. (not faded, antiquey, kinda pink)
But you know what, who says photography as an art form has to be that way?? I say we break that rule into the ground.
One of my most favorite things to play with is color. I love making things look washed out, antique and dreamy. I even love giving subjects colors that they didn't actually have. And then there's making color that just leaps off the page. What can YOU do with color??
Here's some examples that I love. (my goodness, going crazy with color just makes me happy)
Here's some of my shots where I went a bit off the norm with color:
So. This isn't a colorization challenge. I don't want to see you turn something into black and white and color one piece. Nope. What I want to see is you break the rules of what the color in the photograph SHOULD be. Or use the color in the photograph to your advantage (like the pic of the girl surrounded by peppers, or the blue girl with bokeh all around). USE the color. Make the color the main focus of the photo. Make it different.
Make sense? (oh, and if you have some of those sweeeeet iphone apps, you can totally rock this challenge)

i went to the supermarket to look for coloured gerberas to do something with last night but they only had white, so I had to make them my favourite colour!
@amyhughes Thank you kindly! I really love yours as well! The yellow tones are great and those fences along the beach make the best photo ops! They invoke such a feeling!
