And now for the Artist Challenge #40 - Georgia O'Keeffe
The challenge is to take a photograph recreating one of Georgia O'Keeffe's paintings, or to photograph something in the style that is reminiscent of her work, or to take a concept of one of his paintings and make it your own.
These are some examples of her work with flowers, abstract and architectural subjects:
Lots of scope here with O'Keeffe's paintings of flowers (possibly a huge macro shot of a flower head with a little softening of the flat colour and sharpening of the edges to emulate her style, an abstract (I think that may of her abstracts were inspired by the details to be found in flowers), or possibly an architectural image again with softening of the flat colour to remove any details, and distinct edges - any post processing should be acheivable in a picture editor.
This is a photo of a rose that I gave a 'median' effect in the 'noise' menu and blended with a light touch of the artistic effect 'watercolour'in Photoshop, you could also try the 'smart blur' filter:
The challenge starts now and ends on Sunday, October 28th 2012 at midnight GMT, entries must be taken between these dates.
Please tag your entries: ac-o'keeffe
I look forward to looking through your photographs for this challenge.

"I hate flowers. I paint them because they're cheaper than models and they don't move." - Georgia O'Keeffe
Terrific. Went to Georgia O'Keeffe museum in Santa Fe and visited Ghost Ranch country. Love here landscapes and her photographs of New Mexico and Glen Canyon
@petervanallen Please, I need a little clarification, still new to this site and challenges. The actual photo that is to be processed must be shot between the 18th & the 28th?
