Firstly - I'd like to thank everyone who voted for my "Carrito / Shopping cart" photo as the winner of the last challenge - a very nice surprise. I did not imagine it to be able to win the last artist challenge and that you owe it to yourselves.
The next Artist Challenge is ...... Xavier Miserachs. Let me to introduce him:
Xavier Miserachs was a Catalan photographer. He studied medicine at the University of Barcelona, but left school to be a photographer.
His work is reminiscent of neorealism and is representative of the years of Spanish economic recovery, 1950-1960.
His photographs shows him as a creator of a new image of the city and its people.
Miserachs was the youngest member of a group of photographers led by Francesc Català-Roca (1922) and that also included names like Oriol Maspons (1928), Ricard Terré (1928), Paco Ontañón (1930), Leopold Pomés (1930) and Ramon Masats (1931).
Miserach's family had legated its collection of 80000 negatives to the MACBA (Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona).
The goal for this artist challenge is to go out into the street, taking advantage of the moderate temperatures that brings the spring / fall, and take photographies of everyday life in your city or town with your personal touch.
@pokhy Well seen and good tribute. The pdf on "fotografiaencurs" is so explicative about Miserach's "way to photograph"... A pitty that It could not be in english... :)
@kali66: Maybe we need that adversite / post here those who were interested in previous editions... :) ... Let me know If need to do anything more for those experienced members because It is the first time I host a challenge and I suspect I'm missing someone :)
tagging you if you have indicated an interest in artist challenges, as usual if anyone else wants to be included in the list for future challenges let me know.
Please remove my name. I don't have the time I feel is required to study these artist and try to copy them. I am at a lower level in my photography. Maybe later I will join this group. Thank you
I was not familiar with his work but, I really love it! Thank you for introducing me to a wonderful photographer. (I loved his bird's eye view of the sun bathers.) @jborrases His work in B&W is amazing and I hope to participate in this challenge!!
@paulam Thank you very much. I'm sure you will post interesting pictures, I'll look forward your work. As I've seen, sometimes his photos were shoted slightly from above, doing a light high-angle shot.
Thanks for the heads-up! I have a very dear friend who lives in Catalonia right now, so I will have to see what this artist's pictures are like. @kali66
Felicidades por ganar el pasado Artist Challenge. Tu foto del carrito está genial. El nuevo reto que propones se ve muy interesante, espero tener tiempo y lograr tomar alguna foto que pueda participar. Saludos!
@olivetreeann Thank you too. I hope I'll see you soon your pictures. @lorenaavalos Muchas gracias. Seguro que encuentras un hueco y estoy seguro que tienen un sinfín de cosas a fotografiar en tu ciudad para el "street photography"
:)
I have been advised by @summerfield to convert one of my shots of the road i walk to work along to B&W, and to put it forward for this challenge, I have been both falling behind on my 365 and also participating in some of the many challenges on here of late which i will try to resolve asap. And this is my first attempt at this challenge... anyway enough babbling here is my entry. http://media.365project.org/1/5052343_aknoqtw167_l.jpg
@salemslot Ok, I got it.... Go to your picture and behind the "chat" and "fav" icon you will find three dots "...". Then click on that and you will see the "Embeed Code" label, then copy the code you'll find below that starts with "<a>..." and paste it here.
Also, If is not done yet, tag your photo with artist challenge tag, then I'll follow later ;)
I'm going to try a few pictures when my March project is over. One interesting thing I've noticed from looking at his pictures is his interesting style of framing a picture.
Thank you @stephomy I'll hope to see your photos here soon :) . IMO, Miserachs takes great care about framing in his photos using high or low angle or using a low viewpoint to the naked eye, from the abdomen, maybe ...
So challenge accepted Joan!
