May 11th, 2014
A big thank you to everyone for your awesome support of my tilt-shift photos and to @jesperani for hosting a fun challenge. Now it’s on to Technique 25!

6. Professional looking portraits
7. Mini portraits
8. Rim lighting
9. High/fast shutter speed
10. Vintage in modern
11. Double/multiple exposure
12. Forced perspective
13. Zoom burst
14. Multiplicity
15. Panning photography
16. ICM
17. Shaped bokeh
18. B&W
19. High key
20. In the night

As you can see, the possibilities are endless! It could even be specific techniques in processing. The host is the photographer who won the last challenge.

TECHNIQUE 25 = Into the sun/flare photography

Spring/summer is a great time to be outside. Shooting into the sun utilizes the light of the sun in unique ways to add drama, romance and mystery to your images! Flare is also a great technique when you are in situations where the scenery isn’t ideal. Shooting into the sun allows you to take an uninspiring setting and transform it into something magical just by using creative lighting. The effect can be dramatic, with a very visible flare, or more subtle, with the sunlight more diffused around the subject. It is all up to you!

Here are a few examples:

@luvmynynix Oh, thank you so much Laurie for drawing my attention to this! Love a sun flare....may have to wait until I'm back in Canada on Weds, there hasn't been much sunshine in the UK over the past few days! :-)

@aerjoseph Congrats Amy! Was a great shot. I deliberately took a photo at Waterloo station in London today so I could try a bit of tilt shift!

Here is one of mine taken on Sunday morning. I'd hoped to get out and look for some yesterday but grey skies and heavy clouds kind of scuttled that plan.

Today being the last day for this challenge and, the weather deciding to co-operate, I decided to have another go at this with an HDR processed image this time.
