Big thank you to @jackies365 for hosting the Abstract-3 and organising the voting (tie-break included, it was extra-work for you). Thanks also to all of you for selecting my photo as the winner....
So, it is now time to start the Abstract-4 challenge!
here's sarah's original description of the "abstract" challenge:
'On this site we have lots of great abstract images. We have the mundane abstract challenge, but this ties the shots to a certain subject. I thought it might be fun to start a pure abstract challenge, with no limit to the subject.
In terms of rules I would suggest that
1. As far as possible the actual object is not immediately recognisable
2. The shot is taken within the time frame of the challenge
3. You can enter as many images as you like
4. As with other challenges the person who wins has the honour of hosting the next one.'
'Abstract photography is based on the photographers eye. We're looking to capture something in a way that it would not usually be seen. Looking for the details, the patterns, the lines, the form, shape and colors that complete a subject and utilizing those key features to make an engaging image.'
for this first challenge the shots must be taken between
January 9 and January 27. Then I will choose finalists to be voted on. The winner gets the honor of hosting the next challenge!
I agree, gives people a good idea of what gets voted for - not that we always aim for votes of course :)
An entry from me to keep the thread going..
