How ABSTRACT is COFFEE to you? Kickoff!

April 16th, 2018
Hi guys!

Thank you all for looking at and voting for the Abstract Mundane Watch challenge entries and picking mine as the winner :-)
Many thanks too you, Catherine Otley, @redandwhite, for hosting this last challenge so perfectly!

The new topic for this ABSTRACT Mundane challenge is:

As you may have noticed, this abstract coffee subject is the same as the one for the 'normal', regular, Mundane challenge. That's no coincidence because the subject for both Mundane challenges is always chosen by the winner of the previous Mundane challenge (which happens to be me too, in this case. Two times lucky me :)).

Actually I have to admit that it was not me, but my husband Maurits, who came up with the coffee subject. Sunday morning he surprised me with such a beautifully looking, nicely layered cafe latte-ish coffee, that it totally was worth while being photographed. But, I already had done that in the past so he said: why not making this a subject for your challenge then? And so the abstract became organically concrete ;-)

Okay, to make the abstract concrete there are some things to keep in mind:

* Please feel invited to enter as many coffee pics as you like.
* Make sure that they are taken and entered between April 16th and April 29th (at the end of the day, using your own local time zone), because this will be the period that the Abstract Mundane COFFEE challenge is running.
* I'll pick some finalist ASAP after the closing and than a round of voting will follow. So stay tuned at least till May 4th.
* Tag your pics: abstract-coffee.
* Please, don't feel shy sharing your photos in this thread. It's good for your own 'exposure' and it will help to keep this thread visible in the joyfull jungle of 365 challenges ;-)
* Please use different pics for the regular mundane and abstract mundane and don't enter the same image for both challenges. But, the good news is that the abstract one could be an edited version of the mundane one.
* Only ABSTRACT pics should be on display in this temporarily pop up coffee store. ;-)
* Wondering what 'abstract' is? It's lots of things but to keep it simple: the subject coffee shouldn't be (easily or not at all) recognisable as being coffee. Using macro could be helpful. Haha, that's all you need for a delicious, fresh coffee smelling-kickstart!

I'm very much looking forward to get a taste of all your lovely cuppa's!
Have fun and good luck :-)

VERY odd square hole in the clouds that I took a pic of. It wasn’t till editing that I noticed another gap in the clouds that looked like a handle on the “mug” and a wisp of “steam” coming off the other side! I swear I did not create this look; I almost did a SOOC, but added brightness and a bit more color. Then I saw this abstract coffee challenge and went “perfect!”
