The purpose of food photography is to entice us to cook, and eat, the product; so the composition, lighting and use of props are integral to a successful food photograph. Sometimes the challenge has been an open food photography category and sometimes there is a theme. I am opting for a Fruits/Vegetables theme—other foods may be included but please have fruit or vegetable as the star of your photo.
